The best chance of remaining a Premiership side is not to have to compete in the Europa League once the knockout stages begins. To that end, the manager might 'rest' a few players before the Liverpool match. How cruel that that lot are next on the list as at present we probably have a one percent chance of beating them. But whatever our strongest team from those available might be, we have to play it on Sunday.
But winning the Europa is worth £50 million and just getting in the group stage of the Champions League is worth another £15 million. Well worth giving it a go.

I don’t think it matters who we play because I don’t think Sage has the slightest clue about who are best eleven is. We know it’s Hendo in goal and Mitchell left back but beyond that it’s names out of a hat time.

It doesn't help when he never has all of our strike force available at once.

Playing in Europe means rotation and not much time for coaching. Not good when the team is struggling.

I think that's true. In his defence, the 'best eleven' is to an extent determined by who the opposition is. If you play Arsenal it's (well, probably theoretical anyway) one group and if it's, say, Hull, another.

And also, I can see us being relegated next year as well. Disgraceful and incompetent from Parish. He carries the can.
Well if you mean he is responsible for the employment of every member of staff and they weren't quite perfect then yes I guess there is some can for him to carry. But on the other hand he has overseen the longest spell the club has ever had in the top league, on top of which one can add in a few trophies for posterity too. He was responsible for the decisions that brought about that success too. So far this season things aren't going too great, but there's still time to turn it round. Still in the Europa, potential semi final in the League Cup, so everything to play for.

Hear Hear.
I doff my 'Borsalino'.

We'd probably spend the £50m. on another Strand Larsen.
I am not massively down on JSL. Yes, we overpaid for him significantly but given the right service I think he would be an effective forward for us.

What does worry me is we seem to have recruited a high number of players with relegations on their cv. Disasi, JSL (ok he transferred mid season but was in the Wolves train wreck), McNeil, Sarr, Lerma, even Hughes and (albeit on loan at Sheff Utd) Henderson. There may be others I am not thinking of.

I do worry this and an overall a lack of leadership is showing in the performances.

In all seriousness Parish will have to have someone else lined up before Sage gets the chop. Sacking Sage without anyone lined up will be mismanagement.
On Saturday, I heard some gentleman in jocular mood articulate that Steve Parish has indeed lined-up a manager who looked at the fixtures and blurted out "No way am I joining until the Tottenham and Liverpool games are out of the way" !!!! 😀
