They would do the same. It's the contempt politicians have for the public. No doubt Khan is obliged to consult before making changes but he doesn't give a damn what the public say.

It's not the first time he's done this and no doubt Boris did the same.

He is right, the new Elizabeth line is proving a great but solitary success.

Building new homes without the right transfer links is rather typical of the UKs not joined up thinking.
