But had a big impact when TM came into the team. Mentored him in the early games which TM benefitted from. Good luck to him and scored a few great goals for us. Last seasons screamer just one 👍
If Jeff is to leave, we should all be thankful for his service. Undoubtedly well paid, but an uncomplaining professional who gave us some good memories.

I liked Jeff, for the record. But clearly we need to have a stronger squad and having him come off the bench indicates its current weakness.

I would be surprised if JS was a permanent move as I am guessing he e is on pretty high wages which Millwall would probably not be able to match.

There was talk that Millwall wanted Esse back on loan for the rest of the season so maybe this is a plan to compensate?

There were subsequent reports that the plan is he would be immediately brought in the first team squad and therefore this was not an option.

Perhaps we tempted them with one option then magically whipped it away. Millwall people are easily distracted - Doogie rattling his car keys would've done the job.

According to Sky, Esse will play tonight for Wall. If that's the case then I don't believe the transfer is done and dusted. You wouldn't allow your valuble player to get crocked and scupper the transfer.

Ideally this happens before Wednesday and he can be on the bench for Leicester or at least for West Ham.

That wont happen.

He is coming from a different league so he would not even be up to speed or have the required fitness levels yet.

I just got a feeling with this one we sign and loan back for the rest of the season or if we sign him he wont really play a role this season he is more for next season.

Millwall did not want a loan back, OG has basically said he would be in the first team squad

He can’t possibly be in the squad for Millwall tonight. If he is that means the deal is nowhere near done. Millwall would not risk jeopardising a £14 Million fee if he were about to sign for a new club. Any injury could totally scupper that, especially when it is Dagenham & Redbridge they are playing (at Home) whom they should be too strong for even without their star player.

Dagenham & Redbridge 15th out of 24 in National League South, with only 2 away wins in 13 league games.

Yes, if we had agreed to pay the release clause he would not play for Millwall, it may be a case of dotting the Is and crossing the Ts, as Phil's Barber says it means the deal is nowhere near complete if he plays
