To be fair, we’ve signed some decent players off Millwall over the years,although I can only think of Derek Possee, Chris Armstrong and Matty Lawrence at the moment, but I’m sure there’s more

Firstly, you named two so that can't be a few.

Secondly, what transfers have been done in a few (used correctly) days that you are privy to? I'm not convinced you know what goes on in the background for any signing at any club.

A few is more than 1 & less than 5. Your pedantic reply was used in the wrong context. You may be a newbie, but . . .

Someone on here the other day said that Palace should just pay the asking price for players instead of negotiating.

That way lies financial ruin for a club such as ours. We aren’t Chelsea buying Brighton players.

In Esse’s case we have overpaid on his release clause to get the deal done. A deal held up outside of our clubs control unless you also think that Palace cave in to any financial demands.

Your “ fcuk up “ examples are risible - we got the deals done and then the players unfortunately have medical issues. I’m sure you would be moaning if those players had been bought by other clubs and their careers turned out differently.

Franca could of course still turn out to be good buy - although that’s an optimistic viewpoint

Don't know why we can't just trust the club when it comes to the nuts and bolts of deals like this. They know what they're doing
