No government trying to manage the UK at the moment would fare any better. It’s not Labour that’s the problem it’s those damn events. No one would have been brave enough to raise taxes to the point where they could make a difference. Which is what is really needed. Tinkering with benefits, shortchanging local authorities do they catch the fall out and decimating foreign aid just puts a sticking plaster over a bleeding wound that’s now haemorrhaging voters.

Getting closer to the EU is a prerequisite of any recovery. That’s where our future lies. Not in the USA.

What is really needed is far less government and far less taxation - that would make a huge difference.

How do you think polling companies work?

They never poll a high proportion of the people. They poll a representative sample which is extrapolated to give an estimate of the whole, always stated within a margin of error.

They don’t claim absolutes. They measure trends and approximate positions. From this one the trend is clear as are the approximate positions. You might want to dismiss it because it doesn’t fit your narrative, but the politicians won’t.
