Reform

To pay for his security and defend against lunatic lefties? No problem for me at all.

This is what you are worried about in Britain 2026? You are part of the problem.

How come his £5 million to be used for security couldn’t pay for him to get some to show up for the declaration last night? And if it was for security, he’ll have the invoices to show that’s what it was used for.

Nothing to fear from this investigation if it’s all above board and the source of their funds are from legitimate sources, have they?

I don't think you understand how security works lad.

You obviously never worked a day in it.

Also, hang on....Who the feck are you to tell someone else that they have to show their invoices? That wasn't taxpayer money.

This is just the kind of authoritarian crap we should be fighting against. This kind of politics is why our freedoms get fewer and fewer.

At least none of you are pretending to care how he is funded and by who.

No political donations are taxpayer’s money. They still have to be declared and accounted for though.

Rent free...

The rapes, the murders, the criminal gangs...

An unelected Prime Minister who has no money and no answers.

Taxpayers money used for better things like funding NGO's that support terrorists and illegal immigrant assisting " charities". These are political albeit not to parties

We learned nothing from this By Election Farage wasn't the first and wont be the last to call one for his personal ambition.

The real shame here is that the opposition refused to put up a viable alternative thus denying the people of Clacton a choice. Count Binface maybe a laugh but I would not want him as my MP.

None of this matters as to the investigation into Farage which will proceed at it's own pace. Claims that he called the By Election to somehow avoid it are nonsense, it has continued and will report at some point.
We also learned that other parties consider two wrongs make a right, that they are hypocrites having fielded Burnham, that they have zero respect for voters, that they have set a precedent to withdraw candidates from Clacton and other safe seats for a future General Election, and that there are 9500 children in Clacton who don't respect political freedom by actually trying to vote out Farage by voting for a comedy candidate.

He wasn't in parliament and was a private citizen.

If the rules are applied fairly he shouldn't have an issue as there are gift provisions in the rules for his situation.

Also, after Widdlecombe, I really couldn't give a feck. He's been attacked several times and his spokeswoman has been murdered. Your side of politics contains far too many weirdos.

No, we don't care, because we care more about the future of our nation, the immigrant islamic 3rd world threat, than a few million quid.

What have we got for the £660m spent on French support? Nothing, they are helping them across.

The 'freedom' for major politicians to take bungs from shady rich blokes..? What absurd framing.

Laughable 🤣🤣🤣

The entire thing has been a shambles from start to finish. Big Nige not even having the balls to show up to the declaration shows what a farce even he knew it was and what a petty man he is.

Now get back to Westminster and answer the investigation’s questions, Nige.
Given recent events you might be tempted to throw him a bone on this one, save that I suspect it was more calculated to tap into his conspiratorial, paranoid base.

I'm not sure that was the aim. I think it more of an attempt to make political capital out of the investigation into his affairs.

Personally, I do not have enough facts or knowledge of parliamentary rules to know whether he broke the rules (although folk on here have arrived at their own judgment based according to their political leaning). What occurred carries a bad odour, but that does not necessarily mean breach.

However, if he wins the election, he does not dodge the investigation. As an MP reinstated he is back on the hot seat. But this time it is different.

This time he can sit with a "mandate" and tell the establishment lackeys in parliament to do one or similar. If he is found to be in breach, he will claim stitch-up and his followers will actually swallow that.

More importantly, if his plan succeeds he will have increased popular support at a time when his star was very much descending. Largely, his in-out base who genuinely believe all that tosh about "establishment" "elites" and other fictitious tropes of populism (see up thread) will lap it all up with very little (if any) sensible scrutiny of detail.

That said, while his political strength will probably grow with the continued investigation (see Trump and the various court actions against him), he and his party are bound to do stuff to move the dial the other way given their innate and supernatural incompetence.

BTW, if the Bin wins, that will hardly be a victory for the "establishment".
At the risk of a pat on one's own back...

I claim little credit or intelligence. His tactic is hardly sophisticated and was telegraphed so obviously you would have to be pretty thick not to have predicted it.

Hilarious how deluded you Reform supporters are. The only demographic that thinks this little charade has played well for him are Reform voters.

His overall favourability ratings have absolutely tanked.

Everyone else has seen this for exactly what it is.
The desperation swingers have lurched to the Tories.

They'll swing again.

Conclude nothing. It's where they rest at general election time that matters.
