The first leg vs Fiorentina gives me hope. Also, style of play will play into our hands with Rayo. I was hoping to get them rather than Strasbourg for example.

But they have the form, and they will be a tough challenge. It is to be expected. Reaching a European final is no mean feat, winning one is doubly so.

Only lost 1 0 to Barcelona earlier in the season and beat Athletico 3 0.

Hopefully we have enough to beat them.

Vallecano are better than Shaktar Donetsk...... proving to be a handful against Valencia at the time of writing.

We have bigger, more costly signings.....but Vallecano are very well drilled, cohesive, and difficult to break down. Hot weather in Leipzig will favour them. Having watched them play, i know what we will be up against. The big question , for us, is Which Palace team will show up ?

Definitely won't be easy. That said, we've upped our game for the last two Conference ties so here's hoping we can do it again!

I reckon this is exactly the one match Olli has been building up to all season. That alone isn’t a reason for unbridled optimism, but I’d be willing to bet he’s got something up his sleeve. And Vallecano are certainly no better than Manchester City were a year ago.

It is uncanny an uncanny similarity. One difference is the last two relegation spots are still open and Rayo are not yet 100% safe. I took a quick look at the LaLiga table last night and it seems with just two games to play anyone from 8th down could technically still get relegated. Obviously some unlikely scenarios for that to happen but it's unbelievably tight.

Teams picking up points below Rayo would be handy, forcing them to not rest players in their last two games.

Alavez have just beaten this season’s la liga champions Barça at Mendizorroza, and are fighting for their lives to avoid the drop. With Rayo having a chance still to get dragged down.

Rayo’s game is away at Mendizorroza.

It could easily be one!
