Very interesting thread. It would seem that many of us chaps on here have been diagnosed with the dreaded Prostate Cancer.
I had my 1st PSA test in 2011 which showed that Cancer was present. The medics wanted to operate but before going ahead they needed to check that it hadn't spread. What they found was that I also had Myeloma, which is incurable.
Long story short, both conditions have been treated with reasonable success, although the 'treatments' were extremely uncomfortable to say the least, and with difficult side effects.
The message from me though is this. The PSA test might not be foolproof, but it gives a good indication that Cancer may be present and I would strongly encourage blokes to get tested.
There's no doubt that I wouldn't still be around
15 years later if I hadn't had mine.
