Potential Covid Contract corruption

I take no political sides. Anyone caught gaining personally from the Fast-Track scheme where they provided sub-standard goods should be prosecuted. This case centred around the supplies not being certified as being fit for use. Therefore useless. And a breach of contract.

Mone knew the supplies weren't certified, and somehow still got paid, in spite of this being discovered by the Gov Department taking delivery of them.
If I took delivery of faulty stock at work, they would immediately be returned to the supplier and the invoice would not be paid.

i hope all the dodgy Government and Opposition MP's are brought to book. Unfortunately, Like Mone and her husband, they have already tried to put their profits beyond reach of the law.
Agree.

What I want to know is how potential suppliers made onto the government's list.

Mmmm. That 'fast-tracking' smacks of corruption to me.

Am I the only one?

Sorry.

I'm clearly not the only one, having read this thread from the start.

Apologies.🙄

Agree. These people should be pursued for every penny they have stolen from the taxpayer.

The other day I mentioned the role of the Civil Service. Ministers may make decisions and bung business their mate's way, but it's the civil service that carry them out, prepare contracts take delivery of goods etc. I am happy to criticise Tory ministers but what the hell was the civil service doing. Who drew up the contracts, who vetted these people.

Maybe there is a memo somewhere to the minister telling them these people are dodgy and not to have anything to do with them. If so we need to see it. Maybe the civil service are also corrupt or just useless. These things don't just happen in isolation.

The focus is rightly on the Tory government but we need to know what role if any the civil service played in this. Are they up to the job?

These 'fast-track' lists and how they were arrived at should be the subject of a scrupulous enquiry.

The whole issue should be transparent.

'Insider trading' is illegal yet we can see that there's more than one kind going on, unaccountable.
