Ok I'll have a go at that.
According to what I can find he makes about £2.2 - £2.5 million a year. Obviously a lot of money, but this has to be relative to that role at other clubs right? So from what I can see, this is about average. Some take more, think Tottenham paid Levy £3.5 ish and similar for Chelsea and Man Utd and some pay less, some even take no salary, but those clubs then tend to have someone running the club as well as a chairman, which is what Parish does. So from what I can tell, he's about average salary for the size of our club, but that is "from what I can tell" so might not be accurate.
Yes and no I would argue. In the summer we didn't actually have the money from the Eze sale until the end of the window did we? I don't know how the accounts work for a football club and transfers (do any of us?) but would we have been outside of the rules bringing players in before then, hence the wait till January? I don't know, it's all very confusing when I've looked into it, as it's over three years for a start and then it all gets changed for next season for more stricter rules. I did wonder if the January spurge was to get signings in before the rules changed?
I did figure out with the help of ChatGPT (so could be bollocks) that after signing Johnson we had £35 mill left over before breaching the rules, so that's most of Strand Larsen covered with the Guehi transfer covering the rest. But to be honest, f*** know how this all works. I would have liked to have seen more transfers in the summer though, think Parish got a bit too obsessed with the whole Europe appeal.
Remains to be seen? Kamada turned out all right in the end, Guessand is looking useful and Canvot looks like he could be good. Jury's out on Pino and Uche though... Not seen enough from Johnson or Strand Larsen to say to be honest. So fair to judge yet?
Oh come on, Dwight McNeil? Last minute transfer that didn't go through, happens all the time. If his missus hadn't thrown a fit then no-one would be talking about it and we probably would have looked to bring him in come the summer. The way his missus went on was like she was packed and ready for months with everything in boxes, entitled beyond belief!
There was an occasion when the plane was buggered coming back from Dublin, but I think this was a technical fault with the plane rather than incompetency by the club? Was there another incident?
Oliver Glasner press conference: Crystal Palace v Manchester City
Now this is bollocks. As someone else mentioned, players pull out of games all the time through injury, personal circumstance, illness, injured in the first five mintes of the game, happens all the time in all levels of the football pyramid (although Sunday league it's more hangovers to blame). If an elite manger can't cope with this and his entire game plan is focused on one player, which without with the entire thing unravels like a house of cards, then I'd say that's on the manager and bad tactical planning.
You have to have contingency plans. Guehi wanted to go, this is the crux of it, he could have said like Semenyo did at Bournemouth "I'll go after the game" but he didn't want to, Man City probably didn't want him to play and as a club who were going to lose him for nothing in a few months, it makes no sense to risk £20 million on a game that we should compete in with or without him. I'm sure the much reported row that Guehi had with Glasner at half time at Macclesfield the game before had absolutely nothing to do with his decision.
Eh? They're not slaves! If an employee wants to leave there's bugger all you can do about it. What's a long deal for club doctor or head analyst? Any employment contract has a notice period and resignation statement in it and you can't fine people for leaving. Footballers work in a completely different set of rules to everyone else as it's all tied to registration with a club and all sorts. Doctors and analyst's arent' registered with FIFA or the league or anything, there just employee's. You can offer anyone a massive salary, but if they want to go to a bigger "company" then you can't stop them. Not sure what you're expecting here?
What Glasner wanted was not possible from this club. That's the bottom line. You can't make players stay, Eze wanted to leave in the summer for a bigger club, we didn't push him out. Guehi told the club that he wasn't going to sign a new contract, he wanted to leave the club. Mateta is a prick. What Glasner wanted was ready made, exact copies of those players in when they left. Money aside, if we can't get those players to stay because they have aspirations of playing for a "bigger" club then we can't carbon copy them in. We don't have the money, clout or reputation... yet. I think the club could have done more in the summer with signings, but they wouldn't have been those players. They would have been Canvot's, Riad's, Esse's as that is our model. Frankly I'm amazed at what we did in January transfer wise.
Is it? I don't know anyone working for the club, but I also can't find anything saying that. Seems not too bad on Indeed:

Think that topic has been done to death. I think the point is that it is happening, although it's taking an absolute age.
I would like to see more players coming through the Academy. We've had a lot of almost rans and it would be good to see more coming though. What do you mean by phase 2? What wasn't done by Spring 2023?
Now that is bollocks. There was confusion about the route as there was talk about going from Crystal Palace park, but saying he didn't want one just isn't true. Surely the route is down to the council what with road closures and everything? Agree on the merchandise though, waited f***ing months for my stuff!
Yeah we could have been better prepared for that, but I don't think anyone expected us to be winning the FA Cup when the deadline passed. I don't think Textor would have allowed it anyway, remember he was trying to sell his stake at the time and if he had put his shares into a blind trust, he would have lost control of them (temporarily) and wouldn't have been able to sell them. If the email was missed then that is crap and not acceptable.
But it's not though is it? It's mostly conjecture, opinion or tbh incorrect.
The last couple of months have been a bit of a mare and we've all had the stuffing and energy knocked out of us. Beginning of the season I would have paid anything to keep Glasner and backed him however he wanted. But what he wanted was unachievable for a club or size and now I want him gone as the feeling of a downward direction does, in my opinion, come a lot from his negativity, saying stuff he should have kept to himself and just the way we've been playing (which would have got anyone else the sack).
We can look at this season in two ways, one we've flirted with relegation, got knocked out of the FA Cup to Macclesfied of all clubs, lost key players and not covered ourselves in glory with the way we've played in Europe, along with putting up with a petulant manager who seems to like throwing his toys and slagging us off at any minute.
Or.
We can say we're 10 points clear of relegation, 3 points off 8th place, made it to the quarter finals of the Carabao Cup (only going out on penalties) and we're in the last 16 of the Europe Conference as favourites to win. All of this despite losing some key players and with a manager that hasn't been as committed as we would like.
Could the board and Parish done more? Yeah probably, but do I want them gone? nah because at the end of the day, they can't s*** a miracle can they?
