Parish Out

I disagree.
Brentford, Brighton and Bournemouth show it can be done, plan well ahead and don't have these last minute transfer window dramas.
Bournemouth's latest is Kroupi who cost an initial £10 million and looks a bargain.

In terms of planning Parish made it clear that we wouldn't letting Guehi go for free meaning he was always going to go this window.
Any sign of a quality replacement more than 2 weeks after Guehi's departure?
It cost us against Sunderland and Chelsea and may well cost us again today.
Apparently we're casting around for a not wanted last minute Chelsea loan centre back tomorrow.
We're two down on centre backs from this time last year when we had Chaloboah and Guehi too.
Nobody can say with a straight face that our transfer planning looks coherent.
I wouldn't say that more like imbecilic.

I think the point here from my perspective is that we obviously can't get a like for like replacement. But what we could get is an experienced player in even if on loan.

Relying on the likes of Canvot and Riad doesn't seem prudent to me. Given that there is now a real need to get some points on the board, this doesn't feel the right time for a player still learning the game and an injury prone player whose quality is unproven, to be thrown in. Yes we have the experienced Lerma, but he is also needed to provide cover in midfield.

Planning for any new managers possible tactical approach isn't for now.
Once again I do not disagree that our need is currently greater than relying on Riad and certainly Canvot.
The club do seem reluctant to dip into the loan market, and I wonder if this is because they do not feel it represents value for money. I suspect that other teams see the needs of teams like Palace and ramp up the loan fees. Especially in the January market.
Our transfer dealings are a conundrum!

If Canvot, Riad, and Lerma aren’t good enough cover at centre back then I wonder why we’re paying them handsomely to sit on the bench. OK, none of them is MG but Riad was looking pretty good before his injury and from his last 2 appearances doesn’t seem to have forgotten how to play. Sure his game time needs to be managed but so does Canvot’s. He’ll never be an “experienced “ player unless we give him that experience . Lerma has been and done it and is great to have as a squad player at centre back or DM.
There are rumours of him going to South America. For me thst will only happen if we sign a permanent centre back and we will only do that for the right player at the right price, not as a January panic buy.

Canvot has potential. At the moment he is young and still pretty new to the Premier League game. He's made a couple of costly errors from which it's hoped he will learn. Just my opinion but I'd rather be giving him the experience which he needs in a team that's in a better run than ours currently is.

Riad is unproven and just back from over a year out. Again, I think it's unwise to place too much reliance on him for those reasons.

We don't need a January '' panic buy '' but we could attempt a loan.

I have to say with regard to Canvot, how many shocking errors are ok for a centre back? He’s already cost us several points this season. If you want to give him experience you should be bringing him on with 15 to go when we are in control of the game, not starting him and expecting that he will be ok.

Riad has only played a couple of games since he joined and whilst he looked ok last time out just how resilient is he going to be after over a year out?

Richards is also not a stranger to injuries so we are now relying mightily on Lacroix. Lets pray he doesn’t get an injury otherwise our defence is screwed.

In my opinion we desperately need an experienced centre half who can be an immediate starter in the PL. I don’t care if he’s a loan or a purchase but yet again we get the sale of a top player without a proper replacement in mind and a “we will make do” attitude from the club. We create most of our own problems.

Your all talking like we'll be playing 3 at the back forever. When Glasner goes I'm pretty sure we'll see a return to 4 at the back, for which we have the players.
As for replacing MG as if by the wave of the old magic wand, you can't. One of a kind who couldn't get into the Chelsea line up for starters, but who developed into a commanding player whilst at Palace under the tutelage of various managers. He had time to breath and grow into the player we recognise today, give that space and time to others.

Are we ? Or are we just saying that while we do have a manager that plays with a back 3, while we look to try and turn things around, and while we work towards moving away from a potential relegation battle, we bring in an experienced player if only on loan ?? I've seen no suggestion that we can easily replace Guehi like for like....

no our strikers have cost us more points than the kid , as a ex defender if back 5 that includes GK make a mistake that cost us a goal we are the anti christ , a attacker misses load of goals and scores one he is a hero

I think Canvot could slot up to mid today as he has pace , Hughes will need support - Lerma,Lacroix,Richards at back Munoz / Mitchell flanks - Sarr & Pino - in behind Mustapha ! - Riad & Kamada subs

You want to replace one of the best defenders in England and a shoe in for the England team with someone who has been out injured for a year and is still an unknown quantity or else a youngster whose mistakes have already cost us points
Richards and Lacroix as a pair, Riad and Canvot as back ups, we wont be playing 3 CDs for long

Just my suggestion here and you can take it whichever way you like.

Given that I don't agree with the majority of what you post on here, you are , as we all are, entitled to your opinion.

But your repetitive use of exclamation marks makes you come across as suffering from an extreme form of hysteria and actually takes away from any valid points you make.

I don't agree with a lot you say - but as you say you are entitled to your opinion.

My point is I am struggling to fathom/understand some people on here and their blind faith in Parish - when we are imploding in front of our eyes, due to Parish's lack of planning and strategy.

Look at the line-up at Forest today - it's just a joke, Parish couldn't even sign Guessand on time.

I've left the exclamation marks just for you..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀😀

I for one agree - Parish has reached his ceiling & needs to work out an alternative plan than what we saw today

Yet paying £35M for BJ he is not match fit & looks short on many occasions today

But he has got planning for a new shiny stand.......

Yes because there is no readymade replacement out there and these two lads are already on our books so get behind them give them time and they will come good.

Name a player, that is good as Guehi and an adequate replacement in our price range. Then you can join the recruitment team.

We dont have time, we need results, right now.
I guess so, but.... a top quality centre half to replace Guehi, I wonder where he is? He must be really keen to sign for an ailing club like Palace whose manager is leaving and players want away. It can't be a money thing. No, we're stuck with what we've got, and have to knuckle down.
