I have always been 100% behind Parish but I have to say it has been disappointing that he has made very little public comment about the fantastic job Oliver has done.
Clearly there was a major fall out after the Macclesfield/Sunderland matches but he could of at least recognised the fantastic achievement of three trophies whist losing a number of key players.
It is a shame they could have not settled their differences and maybe, just maybe we might not be looking for a new Manager.

It was interesting how effusive in his praise OG was for virtually all stakeholders in the club and he seemed at some point to name them all... apart from the Board.

The one reference I can think of was a tongue in cheek one in the build up to the Conference League final: "I do not have to agree with the Chairman today... our best moment is still to come."

I do not think there is too much love lost there.

The relationship between Board and Manager changed after European qualification Glasner wanted To strengthen the team for the extra games involved and felt he was not supported by Parish and felt let down with the sale of gehui, a very similar situation with Michael laudrup at swansea he did not get financial backing from the owners after getting swansea European football he later left as he felt the club were not meeting his ambitions. Building stability of the club takes time and is not always of interest to managers who want to build on previous season's success.

Abandoned I believe he said…..

owning a football club you either loose loads of money or make loads of money and get out on a high before you loose It all , very difficult to tick by year after year because as soon as you get success it comes at a cost.

None of us is in a position to know what actually has happened between OG and SP, or the board, my guess would be Parish, would have kept OG, as said ,with a record of two cups, and a Charity Shield who wouldn’t? if he could meet his demands, that simple. Parish said OG had things he wanted to do, what he didn’t say was those things would never include Palace, and that is all down to OG for whatever reason his choice.

Parish job is not to be Ollie’s best mate. He was his boss. I have heard interviews from SP after the game praising Ollie
Yes I did see some praise from Steve. I don't think they ended on terrible terms or anything, although they were never gonna be quite as close after events that have been and gone.

The one thing that Parish does around conflicts with managers is keep his own counsel.

We all heard Glasner's complaints loud and clear, but as far as I'm aware Parish has never responded.
I don't think he's even leaked stories through 'friendly' journalists to refute or explain the issues raised by Glasner.
Other owners/ chairmen are more relaxed about using this tactic.

I doubt Parish was too happy about being accused of 'abandoning ' or ' not meeting commitments' to Glasner and the team, but we'll never find out unless there's the unlikely release of a tell all autobiography.

In reality I expext Glasner would have gone in any event at the end of the season.
Football has hit the stage where a 2-3 year period for a manager almost counts as long term warranting a testimonial!

They held the trophy up together on Wednesday and neither of them tried to bash the other on the head with it, so the relationship can't be that bad.

I guess Glasner just feels the club don't match his ambitions. It's annoying though as he is clearly a winner and everyone has forgiven him for his behaviour in January when he sounded like he was losing the plot a bit and possibly was looking for a pay off. Credit to him for knuckling down and delivering yet more silverware. I would have felt confident he would have taken us deep into the Europa League competition next season as well, as long as the scouting and recruitment in the summer was reasonable.

It’s a pity he said he is seeking a new challenge as he’s delivered 3 sets of silverware with not a top 10 squad.
palace are in another EU competition making 5 cups to go for

Now isn’t that a challenge it self ?

Yet the words seeking a new challenge is a cop out for I’m never going to get the players I want.

I feel his next role will be a 2 year gig at Anfield he will get players for sure - But when they don’t deliver his Chairman will tell him - go seek a new challenge!

Yeah I am quite curious where he goes from here. Somewhere nearer home would be my guess.

Quite where we go from here is anyones guess. It could easily be as good as it gets, but also it could be the springboard to even greater heights if we manage to get a squad capable of another 60 game season in 2 months time. I feel we need some incredible recruitment and loan recalls as the 10 or so palace players who go to the World Cup will surely need a rest when they get back ahead of another busy season.

Now Slot has been sacked surely Glasner will be favourite to take over. Hope they get him and Ireola still comes to us.

I can't see how Glasner can ever go to a "top" club. The fans won't accept 27% possession, even if it does mean winning.

I dunno, maybe he can deliver the "heavy metal" football they want 🤷

It's probably going to be Ireola to Liverpool. Parish wanted him to make a decision by the end of this weekend so the Scouse tossers have jumped in now.
