If it weren't for the crap final goal, which like the others resulted from individual negligence, we would be proud of the spirit and fight we showed with only 10 players, our backup keeper, our third-string striker, and four starters who joined the team in August. If we drew 2-2, we all would have been happy. And if Wharton had slotted the ball into the empty net, we probably would have won.

I'm willing to give Sage and the team much more time to figure things out. Losing Lacroix, though, will hurt us a lot.

Larsen had run out of gas and needed to come off. We need him for Thursday and can't afford him getting injured Remember he played Tuesday and had to do a lot of work today when we went down to 10.

Gozo was IMO the wrong option. Why didn't Sage bring McNeil on or even push Khalaili forward and bring on Mingueza or even bring Pino back on if that was allowed?
 
My spidey senses are telling me that Sage is a bit too much of a disciplinarian. Guessand, McNeil and Osorio have basically been told they are shite recently. It doesn't do much for team spirit. Anyways, Brennan just misses a sitter so it's all good.

Your statement offends me , I give you 15 mins working with this fat bloke you will be complaining that its to much hard work , while I'm still transferring 1.5t of topsoil to my 3rd tier of my garden , at the age of 68 , shame on you

I’d forgotten about that Wharton chance. Came quick to him but like a lot of his play at the moment he didn’t do well enough. As for his free kick just before half time, atrocious!

He calls a spade a spade. Time someone in the football world did. Then we might have fewer players suing the club and 'processing their disappointment'.
 
All 3 goals conceded were pretty soft. We will get swept aside by most teams if the management don't make this the priority.

I wonder whether the recent signings are responses to how we will be when Wharton is sold in the next window, hopefully for a whacking fee rather than the usual Palace bargain basement. Wharton needs time to learn to play alongside Timber, who is a class addition. In fact, Wharton looks lost without Kamada alongside him. It's difficult to see that Pierre Sage knows his best eleven yet. I think it'll be fine once we resume after the international break. Forest at home isn't negotiable. But it's worrying, as Glasner knows Palace's weaknesses well and he will exploit them. He's not much of a man, but he's a great coach. There's me thinking Palace had the Indian sign over Villa and it looks as if it was all the whole Glasner who did. Today's result.
 
At least we're scoring, Spurs can't buy a goal and Villa have only scored 1 in 4. Chelsea have also conceded almost as many as us.

I still think we would've won 11 v 11.

Sorting out the defence should come with more game time with all these new faces, but admittedly it needs to happen quick!

How did they fail, Dyche got Burnley to 7th on a shoe string, Howe finished 4th, 7th and 5th in consecutive seasons, Frank kept Brentford comfortable in the top half of the premier league consistently, if that is your idea of failure yo have a strange definition of it, failure is what you saw today

It's a brand new team. It feels like a complete reset after the last couple of years building a team and winning things. Looking at the table it's not the worst....

I havnt warmed to sage yet either 🤔
