Palace v Bournemouth Matchday Thread

Great to comeback and claim a point. To have come away with zero points from the last two games would have been infuriating.

Still can't believe that JP miss but in the same breath I think we were very fortunate to get the penalty. To me it looked like both players were pulling easy other and probably Guehi doing more of it. I'd have been fuming if that was against us.

Should be first up on Motd with six goals and a load more missed chances.

COYP and onto Europe.

As games of two half’s go, this was it. Take the draw after a very poor first half performance by us. Mind you Bournemouth were so good in the first half so we had to up our game and did. Saying that Mateta had chances in the first half that he should have put away. Disappointing for me was Pino, yet to be convinced and I thought Wharton was poor with a lot of his passing. Seems to be better when under pressure rather than having time to think which then causes an over hit pass? There were others that had poor first half’s even though I’ve singled out Wharton. Pino though was poor with a:-(

That was an entertaining game and perhaps a fair result in the end.

I say this as a Bournemouth fan.

What I didn't like was your dirty tactics today, which was basically cheating.

Clearly Glasner had told your players to try and con the ref in and around corners.

In the 90th odd minute you were awarded a penalty when SIX players all went to ground at once when the ball was 15 foot in the air.

Have a think about that.

What are the actual chances of 6 players going to ground at once?

Certainly wouldn't be the defenders bringing players to the ground would it?...... For fear of giving away a penalty.

So for 3 sets of players to go to ground at exactly the same time you achieved your objectives which was to con yourselves a penalty.

The tactic worked.

Equally with the Senesi tackle where you wanted him sent off your player cleared the tackle and could have continued the phase of play.

.....but no, your player decided to collapse like an 90 year olds prolapsed v*****, in the hope we would go down to 10 men.

I really used to like Palace, but after what was a very enjoyable and entertaining game between two similar front footed teams my enjoyment of Palace has seriously diminished.

You tried to get a player sent off because your player chose to drop like a sack of shyte when he could easily have stayed on his feet, and because Glasner employed a filthy tactic to win a penalty.

It clearly was a tactical move on Glasners part.

Unless of course you can tell me when 3 individual players have bought down the opposition at exactly the same moments when a corner has been given.......all the while when the ball is in the sky.

Cheating dirty bstards.

Theres competing, and then there's cheating.

We saw the dark side of cheating tonight, and luckily for you it got you a draw

To be honest there was more of a foul on Lacroix than Guehi, but it would be virtually impossible to turn over as a pull or push is very subjective.

Neither had a great game, sure.

Wharton rarely goes for the easy pass, so when it goes right we create chances and when it doesn’t we lose possession but our success wasn’t built on keeping the ball. Similarly Yeremy wasn’t great but he made a good cross for Mateta who should have scored.

Bournemouth were that Mateta penalty away from being top for a reason.

That’s rich coming from the kings of the niggly petty fouls

Indeed, clearly Bournemouth have been taking lessons from Guardiola and Arteta in the ‘art’ of cynically breaking up play.

I didn’t think it was a red card at the time or having seen it since, we might have scored but there was a covering defender, so yellow seemed tight to me.

I thought it was an excellent, enjoyable game of football between two sides who played for a win throughout.

A strange game. Due to illness I haven been to Selhurst Park this season but
saw/felt the atmosphere in the home match via Liverpool which was amazing. I thought the atmosphere today didn’t quite match the extent of the comeback.
As someone who sits in the AW but at the Holmesdale end, having to attack the Holmesdale in the first half never feels quite right, even though it shouldn’t really matter.
Our first half performance was disappointing and Bournemouth were the better team.
All our goals were scored at the Whitehorse end which doesn’t quite generate the same reaction from the stands.
It’s difficult to really dislike Bournemouth in the same way we dislike say Liverpool or Man U, so the reaction to a comeback wasn’t quiet on the same level.
No doubt fans at the Whitehorse end would disagree with some or all of this.
What was evident was that Nketiah really injected energy when he came on for Pino and though he didn’t score or create a goal, his performance was excellent. I was worried we didn’t have a Plan B but this proved me wrong.

When Eddie came on did we play 4-4-2? If we did it worked rather well !
We didn't really play 442, but Nketiah played much closer to Mateta and this helped the attacking impetus.

Pino looked to come deep to pick up possession and it wasn't his day today.

We need a variety of options depending upon how games are going and ideally you'd also Uche and Esse to be able to make an impact from the bench.
With the number of fixtures the more who can contribute the better.

Does he ever watch that prolasped v....a Kluivert flinging himself to the groung like a spoilt toddler. I expect nothing less from the son of a drink driver murderer.

I’ve had a couple of pints over the day, but JPM is so annoying. Open goal at the end… WTF
Plus he takes an awful penalty.
,I’ll take the 3-3 but on balance they were the better team IMO.,
It’s strange isn’t it? I agree with you, well in the first half anyway, but anyone not at the game would question it because the stats say different, in the end we created more than them, even had more possession, but they were a lot more lively than us first half and you could see they’re a decent side

Munoz, Mitchell, Mateta good. Sarr, Pino, Kamada poor. Wharton a game of two halves - needs Hughes beside him to see the best of him.

Take the point and crack on!

For 60 minutes Munoz was pants, only after that he decided to play. Glasner prefers the Wharton Kamada combination, I think he knows the players better.
