Absolutely, we’re part of the problem because we are trying to survive in the system. The top six are creating the system and ultimately benefitting most from it. In fact what would have been best for Esse’s development would have been to stay at Millwall.

There is a limit internationally of 6 excluding under 21s. Domestically there is no limit, so Chelsea could loan out there whole bomb squad to Bromley if they felt like it. Agree there should be. But players need to have more ambition than a large salary. I would want to play every week at whatever level I could not rot in Chelsea reserves.
 
Sage will know Fofana from his Lyon days, so he'll know what he's getting. It does seem a bit shady to be trying to steal him away from Sunderland at this late stage, but all's fair in love and war, as they say. As someone else said, you wonder if this has been born out of necessity, with Sarr perhaps leaving if this deal goes through.

Sometimes the player only knows about a deal once the clubs have agreed a fee which could take weeks. So the player may find out on the last day but doesnt mean the club have just picked a player out at random to buy. It may also be that they have been tracking a player and were not ready to buy them and get forced into it avoid another club getting the player. A lot of the last day nonsense is a culminaton of much longer deliberations, lots of fake agent gossip but with the occasional panic buy (guehi to liverpool)
 
As per last January we are just throwing random darts around the board with no real plan.

Unfortunately they landed on JSL and Uche then and I worldly bet we fair any better today!

Since Glasner decided he had had enough of Palace, strange decision making has filtered through the club!
