Palace Summer 2026 transfers?

it would be utter madness to go back to someone of the levels of Ayew. He had a couple of moments, but for the most part was all huff and puff with no end product. We should also be trying to flog the like of Nketia to newly promoted teams who might be fooled by his 'premier league pedigree' into taking a gamble on him, much like we were because he came from Arsenal.
I remember his 'Maradonna' dribble and goal v West Ham. Definitely one of those moments.

I would love to know what we offered Mateta to extend his contract. I bet it was significantly below £100k/week. He is a valuable player for us. I would keep negotiating to secure an additional two years on his contract when it expires next summer.

No way, unless we didn't want him to stay. Edouard and Nketiah were on 100,000 and 90,000 when negotiations started, I believe, and since then Larsen 120,000 and Johnson 110,000 have signed. He's probably asking for 150,000 as he is far superior to any of them
Our best hope is that France rotate because of the heat or have some injuries and that he gets some productive playing time. The winning goal in another cup should raise his transfer value

Bowen I agree will have plenty of suitors but Wilson? He's 34 and predominantly came on from the bench for relegated West Ham.

He would do well in a similar role for us and would get Europa League football. We're not that unattractive a proposition.
Harry Wilson not Callum

under 'normal' circumstances i would agree.

However, we have another year of European football and we have 12 players at this year's World Cup.

By Christmas there will be injuries and fatigue in the squad, just as there were the season last gone.

If Pino doesn't play the left side 10 (or needs to be subbed after 70 min) who can fill that position? Currently it's Devenny, who is very limited. The other option is Guessand who will cost over £25m. That's a lot for a squad player. Johnson has proved on multiple occasions he cannot play that role.

Ayew on a 12 month contract is a decent short term solution IMHO.

With respect, I am profoundly in disagreement.

I saw Parish's comments the other day about a quiet transfer window. I know some are worried it means we wont spend any money.

However I read his answer as politic. If all our key players stay then we only really need to look at a couple of midfielders so in that sense it would be a quiet window.

If Wharton, JP, Kamada (out of contract) , Henderson go then of course it will be a busy one.

So I prefer to think that parish was really saying he hopes we keep our main players.

We need a goalscoring midfielder and one player I've been impressed with all season fills that role. Jordan James, on loan from Rennes at Leicester. Reminds me of a young Geoff Thomas. If Mateta leaves we need another striker, Nketiah has proven to be injury prone. I'd still like to see Rak Sayki given a chance out wide, personally I think he has more about him than Esse..
