Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

CAS just posted their list of hearings for the month ahead. No sign of Palace?????
I'm hoping it's done and will be announced later, or will be squeezed in shortly, otherwise I think that's that......

Just posted this to:

The reason why the date was changed to the 1st of March was so that UEFA could undertake detailed checks on all MCOs well before the tournaments start.

“This change was deemed necessary considering the complexity of the cases investigated by the Club Financial Control Body (CFCB), which is charged with dealing with multi-club ownership issues. The newly approved assessment date is intended to provide sufficient time for completion of the decision-making process and ensure the smooth running of UEFA’s club competitions.” UEFA document dated 7th October 2024.

But this begs the question: What is that ‘decision-making process’? What was the CFCB actually doing from the 1st of March onwards that would require them to fulfil their remit by engaging with clubs that have MCO issues? Surely, they will have to be held accountable for that. And surely also this exposes the fallacy of the 1st of March deadline that Crystal Palace was found to be in breach of. On the contrary, it is the CFCB who are in breach for not conducting their investigations properly, and therefore it is they who are in breach of UEFA's own rules.

Sincerely,

Jason Smith

that is the list like a list you get in for court appearances that have already been set , we will be done as a emergency as it effects the coming seasons comps

Same site (UEFA.com) gives different answers:-

Optimists - Open UEFA.com, hit the orange Europa League icon at the top, select Teams, and you’ll see Crystal Palace in the top row. If you had hit the green Conference League icon at the top, you would have seen Nottingham Forest.

Pessimists - Open UEFA.com, select the All Competitions dropdown. This sends you to a large menu. On the left hand side is a large button saying UEFA rankings. Select this. Select Access List (men’s) from the options at the top. There is a dropdown where you choose the competition. If you select UEFA Europa League, you will see Nottingham Forest at the top of the page. If you select UEFA Conference League, you will see Crystal Palace.
Just did exactly that. Its Forest there not us

Yup... Changed Back to Forest.........

Bum.... had hopes there for a moment or two.....

If we stay in the Conference, why are in the Play-Offs? (Sorry if it's been answered earlier)

As we are a seeded team, along with the other seeded teams we automatically go into the play-off round whereas all the others have to qualify. Further up the thread i posted who's playing whom in the 2nd qualifying round. Brondby, Rosenborg, Dundee Utd, Hajduk Split to name a few are in this round.

I feel that unless the club can lay out many thousands on hiring good 'exploit a loophole' lawyers our submission to the CAS will be hopeless.

I say, swallow our pride and genuine sense of injustice, accept UEFA's decision and take the Conference as an unfair consolation prize. Prepare for it with the belief we have a much better chance of success in this league of minnows than in the Europa.

I hope the club have very good replacements for Guehi and Eze should they leave and understand we can't buy these until they do. Hopefully both will make up their minds soon so we can get on.

I am looking forward to the fracas at our first home match against Forest being shown live on Sky - should be great entertainment!

I have changed opinion several times on this and am currently quite pessimistic about our chances of overturning this.

I'm not convinced that we will persuade CAS that we were compliant at 1 March given Textor's previous financial assistance to Palace. I think there is more of a question in whether the 1 March and blind trust rules are actually reasonable or rational. I think both are a nonsense and 1 March deadlines actively works against teams who've never qualified for Europe before but happen to have a great run and win a domestic cup. You could look at the Go Ahead Eagles in the same way. If they had MCO issues would they have reasonably thought on 1 March they would win their domestic cup? Probably not. The blind trust is bonkers - how realistically does that actively prevent influence? Of course it doesn't.

I do in retrospect think the Palace owners have to take some responsibility. Yes it would have looked absurd to have done the blind trust at 1 March but whilst other fans would have been laughing at us it would have helped avoid all this.

And Forest. I have seen a lot of posts from Forest fans on social media - it has split them too from those who believe rightly we got the place on merit and others who say rules are rules, because lets face it Forest get a better position out of it (doubt they'd feel the same way if roles were reversed). The thing that has angered me is those who simply say their owner was seeking clarification, well if that is the case then why not publish the said letter, what have you got to hide? The mere fact that the media have heavily reported that Forest will appeal to CAS if we are let in says it all, that is a clear indicator they are looking to benefit.

I wonder where this leaves Drogheda? The CAS judgement on them appeared to be based on the March 1st deadline.

If Drogheda now need to be readmitted if the deadline was set in stone, as I hope they will be, this could be a right mess.
I think that their exclusion was OK as they were qualified and knew on 1st March there was conflict. On the 1st March we had not qualified so even if we accept that guidelines say that it is not practical for us to comply. Had Roma and Everton put shares in blind trust. They similar situation to us shared ownership and could possibly have both qualified. If clubs like this had taken these steps we are sunk if not we have a legitimate argument

I presume we will get top lawyers. Probably a barrister or two.
Somebody has to make the coffee.

Seems that this 'email' from the ECA, is gathering traction & that Palace have now received full written details from UEFA . . .

Also shows other clubs clickbait is just as crap as ours 😀
