Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

Having read these rules. Nottingham Forest do not comply and should be banned. It defines European competition as the 3 . But when it uses term European competition it does not use word any or same anywhere. So if 2 clubs with common owners are involved in European competition rules apply. Forest and olympiakos are. Not same competition but rules do not say that. Blind trust applies to end of competition so by cancelling blind trust they remain in breach.
And what happens if Olympiakos drop down into the Europa League, and Forest are still competing?

Listened to the Talksport interview with Textor yesterday and he was asked “ who do you think is to blame for the position Palace are in regarding Europe” Textor replied “ ask the guy in the Ferrari”

When Textor bought shares in Palace did anyone else at Palace know that he would also buy shares at Lyon further down the line? How he can blame Parish for his own undertakings? Textor is miffed because Parish wouldn’t let him take control, I cannot see beyond Textor being the problem here.

You only have to look at Man Utd and what the Glasiers did there, saddled the club in debt admittedly the problem was exacerbated by some woeful transfer dealings.

Textor wants to be the “big I am” and he’s got his fingers burnt…..

Being MPs they of course got this wrong, European football is coming to SouthLondon, the issue is what competition, attention seeking idiots.
Depends who you believe, some say Brondby's an issue some don’t.
Also they local mps, it’s kind of their job to get involved, don’t know why some people have an issue?

Yes but think about all those Botofogo players we've missed. From the Japanese and Paraquay second division!
He admitted to shuffling money between clubs through Eagle Holdings. Maybe if the price of getting rid of him is demotion the the Conference League, and I see it no worse than that, its a price worth paying. Miffed though I'd be about that.

It's about influence per the regs.
The decisive influence thing is a red herring, the article 5 simply states having even 1 share in both clubs is an issue, 0.0000001% causes the multiclub conflict. He doesn't have to be in control or have voting rights. Article 5 says if someone has any involvement in the management or ownership of 2 clubs there is a breach.

One thing struck me as I was listening to this, us fans have been going all our lives, it’s a massive part of our lives, yet we’re just so reliant on these Americans and other foreign owners at other clubs, and their money coming in for a few years, who let’s face it don’t really give a fcuk.
I watched some of it back on YouTube yesterday evening and I was looking at Texter thinking, who the fcuk are you? Where were you on a cold Tuesday night against Shrewsbury in the 1980’s?? I know that’s a bit extreme, but they drift in and out of our club annd other clubs and it does grate how much influence they have and how much we need their money these days.
Maybe we should be grateful, as Texter was quick to point out about how his money got us through Covid and helped build the acadamy, but you do end up thinking, good riddance, shut the door on your way out

To be honest I too rather feel it should be the Europa League or nothing. Personally I'm not interested in the tinpot Conference which is just another unnecessary creation of EUFA.
I agree to an extent but playing in the conference league this year, we will have a very good chance of winning it and be able to rotate a bit more than in the EL. That then potentially leads into the EL if we did win it with more time to build up squad depth.

I'll be refreshing this page for most of the day today.

It's also interesting to read some of the decisions they've come to over the past couple of seasons, and how they've moved the goalposts for the 'bigger clubs'.

In which case there was little point in Parish and Textor meeting with UEFA back in June. And absolutely no point in the circus that has occurred afterwards. UEFA could have simply said you’re in breach and will not be in the EL.

So why the wait ? I’m clinging, albeit not very optimistically, to the hope that they have given Palace time to comply. And that a final decision will not be forthcoming until Johnson is confirmed as ‘ fit and proper ‘ by the EPL.

That may be how the board look at it. Win the conference and get two years in Europe.
Unless we're in the Champions League by then.

One of the most interesting claims that Textor made was that he was offered 75% of Palace initially and then told that to get approval faster he should settle for 43% to begin with.

I struggle to believe that someone with Textors wealth would be taken in by that. I’m not saying it didn’t happen but if I was parting with £90m I’d be doing all the due diligence available to make sure that I knew the complete picture.

Why is this talking so long.

We all know the fit and proper test is a joke considering some of the PL owners. Johnson has the money as far as I know he is not a war criminal nor has he committed any major crimes.

This should be quite easy to approve.
