Our best eleven

Do you have a crystal ball do you? You speak with such certainty. There’s no way we bring a Dutch international like Timber to the club and sit him on the bench. He comes straight in alongside Wharton I’d have thought and hoped.
Time will tell. Im not often accused of speaking g with such certainty so I’ll take that as a compliment! I agree Timber will probably play alongside Wharton eventually but still think he will be on the bench for now. If he does start then Kamada for Pino is also possible. While Sarr would still be favourite for our best eleven given his record last season I’d be surprised if he starts our next game if he’s not been training. Personally I’d love Osorio to have a blinder and keep the little sh*t out of the team given his and his agent’s behaviour. Even better, f*ck off to Turkey for £60 million.

Our best eleven ! After 19+? departures and arrivals in last weeks I dont know who a lot are let alone how good they are ! Give it a month or six weeks and will hopefully be become more obvious !

The other thing is that with the players we have now , a number who are used to being part of the first team squad on matchdays are unlikely to even make the bench
I'm thinking of the likes of Hughes, Lerma, McNeil, Guessand, Nketiah and perhaps a defender.
There simply won't be room.

A nice problem to have?

Well possibly, but it can be demotivating.
Martin Kelly told a story that Roy liked to have 2 centre backs on the bench and on one occasion Roy called Sakho into his office and told him he was neither in the team nor on the bench.
Sakho stormed out of the office and the next thing was the sound of the photocopier outside the office being smashed up.
The players heard the noise and asked Roy what was going on and he replied 'Mamadou is on the warpath '

it’s got to be, Glasner had to flog the same players for months last season and it cost us a decent finish in the league and then we had the debacle at Macclesfield. I think the biggest clue the team was knackered and jaded was up at Leeds, they outfought and outplayed us from start to finish, and this was Leeds, who weren’t that good themselves

Right with the dust settled on the transfer window what do people feel our best eleven now is?

I’m going to assume Sage sticks with 3-4-3 in which case the best eleven as I see it is:

Henderson

Richards - Disasi - Tomiyasu

Khalali - Wharton - Kamada - Mitchell

Sarr. - McNeil

JPM
I'd have Canvot and Pino over Tomiyasu and McNeil. I'd also stick with Strand-Larson. Give him a run of games and he might find some form. In reality we're going to have to do that anyway unless JPM's injury miraculously disappears!

Agree , it’s a bit of a weird obsession for Sprites I think.

I remember when Hennessy was absolutely pony and there was a poster that thought we was the second coming of Gordon Banks, had to mention him on every thread.
Like Sprites was with Hughes, lately it’s been Dacoure, think now it will be Timber. Anyone but Kamada it would seem.
Your hate for Kamada is so transparent! At least you've stopped calling for Hughes to replace him though!

Chilwell is a hugely important signing and we need to find a way to get him to play a lot of minutes. There are no natural leaders in the team now.

He’d have to play as the left of the three centre backs. To be fair we could do worse

I actually wish we stop the 3 center back thing. It’s tedious.
Unless the three are superstars and none are.

You are not alone in that. I’d venture to say at least half the people commenting on here would agree. However, Sage likes to play three at the back just like Glasner did

Henderson
Khakil Disasi Chilwell Mitchell
Wharton Timber Kamada
Sarr Mateta Pino
Hard to see both of these in the same starting eleven unless one - likely Ben Chilwell - plays in midfield.

I cannot see Chilwell playing at centre half. He must be under six feet and I doubt he is imperious in the air.

I love the way all of the best 11s have one or two of the new signings at most, yet still aren't as good as our best 11 a year ago.
I don't really see how Pino is currently in any best 11.
As you haven't seen the new players play yet, that's an odd statement. Our best 11 last year lost to Everton and Man City.
