Right with the dust settled on the transfer window what do people feel our best eleven now is?

I’m going to assume Sage sticks with 3-4-3 in which case the best eleven as I see it is:

Henderson

Richards - Disasi - Tomiyasu

Khalali - Wharton - Kamada - Mitchell

Sarr. - McNeil

JPM

Pino for McNeil for me.

But remember that Sarr and JP are both 'injured'

McNeil no way. Will be a squad player well down the pecking order once the new boys bed in and Sarr back. Think he was signed as the only way we could get rid of Johnson. Can see him not being here next season.

Henderson

Canvot - Disasi - Tomiyasu

Khalali - Wharton - Timber - Mitchell

Sarr - Mateta - Guessand

But obviously big hopes for Osario and Gozo to make an impact.

I think he is our only left sided player so has to play there. We are completely lopsided in the squad with six players who can play on the right and only McNeil who naturally works on the left

Look at clips of the new boy Osorio. He’s predominantly left footed and will likely play on the left. Looks an amazing talent as well. Shades of Olise !!!!!

I thought he played mostly on the right cutting in on his left foot. Maybe I am wrong in which case I stand corrected

The back three is guesswork. If Richard’s plays he has to be on the right of three. I think Disasi will be the centre to lead the group and because he can head well. Left centre back is up for grabs. Could be Tomiyasu or Canvot but Ahanor might get a shout as the only left footed centre back.
Our middle four will be Khalaili, Wharton, Kamada, and Mitchell with Timber coming on for a tiring Wharton and Hughes for Kamada.
Up front I’m going for Osorio ahead of Sarr who hasn’t trained for a couple of weeks and given his attitude deserves to be benched unless Galatasary offer £50-60 million before Friday.
Pino is unchallenged on the left with McNeil there as sub. Up front If like to see JSL get a run to see if he can establish himself but probably JP just gets the nod as a starter.

Do you have a crystal ball do you? You speak with such certainty. There’s no way we bring a Dutch international like Timber to the club and sit him on the bench. He comes straight in alongside Wharton I’d have thought and hoped.

Whoever gets into our first team now that the transfers have hopefully finished, we need to hope for some consistency with Sage's selections. Because they need to play together & learn from each other developing the new style. I'm worried that too many substitutions might just cause a mess - sure, players will get minutes, but experimenting too much during important league games could just lead to failure if players don't know their expected positions & teammates too well. Hoping we can work on this sort of thing in training, where certain players are told they'll be back-ups throughout the team. This can encourage competition of course & help in cases of injury. Let's hope for quick action from everyone involved, including coaches & medical teams.

you criticise someone for speaking with such certainty and then do the same!!

Wharton and Kamada are both internationals too, as it Lerma. Not all can start.

Let's see how things go - Timber looks a better fit in a 433 IMHO

Your hate for Kamada is so transparent! At least you've stopped calling for Hughes to replace him though!

I mean Pino is an international for the best team in the world and he has sat on the bench plenty. JSL is an international for a team that did better than the Netherlands at the World Cup and he isn’t first choice. Sosa was an international and barely got a kick with us. So on and so on

Agree, we need to be careful.

In both games Sage has been keen to use subs, which is refreshing after Glasner. It is also a reflection that our bench is stronger.

However, in both games the subs have had limited impact and if anything have weakened the X1.

Gozo looks lightweight and appears to be one for the future. Guessand has been a disappointment so far this season, albeit with limited minutes. He is not a starter IMHO but on paper is a useful sub. Against City he looked lost when he replaced Larsen and was arguably at fault for the 4th goal.
McNeil was not much better.

I'm not expecting many changes for Saturday as the new players have only just arrived and then maybe 8 or 9 changes for Boro in the cup. The Ipswich starting X1 will be interesting.

Henderson
Canvot Mitchell
Kaliaila, Pino, Timber, Wharton, Oroso, Mcneil
Sarr Nketiah
The new 2-6-2 Formation, you know it makes sense 😎, the Oppo almost as confused as our own players, its a winner
