Oliver Glasner Press Conferences

Who is the Oliver Glasner, the post match conference or pre - I guess both are.

We are generally happy with the pre, now not the post, because he’s losing and leaving. If he starts getting the best out of his players and winning again, fine, forever grateful for what he did, but I don’t trust him.

If we have someone else decent lined up and he leaves I’d still be relieved not disappointed.

Nothing has changed my mind about amateur hour at Palace. We have a manager who totally threw his toys out the pram, made no attempt to change anything to win a game, so basically gave up on that game because he felt like it. He then tells the press that he doesn’t really care if he remains at the club.

He disrespects the club, the fans, the players then has the temerity to say, well that’s Oliver Glasner, that’s what I’m like.

No win since December 7th in the league consisting of just 3 draws and 6 losses, but we are expected to go, “yes but that’s just good old Olly and Steve doing their best, Glasner is a jolly old chap isn’t he.” No he f&@“in isn’t.

I don’t care what he says in an interview that has probably been written for him. He’s leaving soon anyway so get him out the club now.

I am with Lanzo on this, he is taking the proverbial p out of our club.

My take on it is that we need to get through the rest of this season. It could still turn out to be a decent one with a fair wind. I initially wanted OG sacked on the spot, however if he is currently the best option we have then I trust in the board to make the right decision. In all likelihood we do not yet have a replacement lined up, and certainly not one that can step straight in.
There was a very small recognition by OG that his tantrum was misplaced in the way he went about it, although he kept referring to himself in the third person (arrogance personified)

With the returning players and getting back on the training field I expect for there to be an upturn in fortunes which will hopefully get us through to the summer. We can then thank him for his service and then he can fcuk off.
This needs to be about Palace and what is best for us, and if it means sticking with an arrogant t*** for a few more months, then so be it.

That's easily fixed, God a few spoken lies and the man is good again, are all the rants, pathetic lineups, awful performances, lack of tactical awareness are forgotten, he is like a double glazing salesmen, will say anything except whats on his mind, i wouldn't like him with me in the trenches, would shoot me in the back and blame someone else, of course i want Palace to win, but i want him gone ASAP
the fickleness of some people is genuinely outrageous

Sir Steve knows the score. Players and managers all move on eventually. The only true loyalty is between the fan and their club. It's a shame more managers (and people in general), weren't more like him and Guehi really. I don't know how much of today's thing I buy. He's still off at the end of the season anyway isn't he. As unrealistic as it is, id love to see what he could do with today's squad rather than a load of free transfers.

I watched the press conference. It was strange because that was the Ollie we had for the ‘Golden’ Period. I want to dislike him because he’s turned on us and is leaving. But the reality is, you can totally understand it. We are never going to be able to compete on the big stage. I feel like such a prat for getting carried away after winning the cup and how good we looked at times.

The reality is a real kick in the teeth. The fact is (and we all know it) is last May might well be the best we will ever see from a Palace side. Yes we might cobble a run together and win the conference but for me that will not outshine the FA cup same as winning the charity shield didn’t.

At one point we looked so good. But Ollie is right and this is not about wanting him gone or wanting Parish out. This is just the reality of our club. I’ve always known this. I watched Sansom tear down the left as a kid. I watched Wright and Bright tearing up what I still think is the best team (not the most successful I know) but the for me the best team I’ve seen at Palace and now the 25 team. They did it, they gave us that day. But that might be it for 30 years. I’d be in my mid eighties if I was lucky enough to make old bones.

It is proper s*** when reality smacks you clean in the face. It’s a closed shop for the big boys and we will never be able to financially compete. As I said, we all know it but the way Ollie said it, honestly it breaks my heart my heart because I love Palace and always will but it absolutely f***ing kills me that we are this club.

I feel totally shot. Eze gone. Captain gone. All the other big guns will go. Why wouldn’t they. I know we are that club and I know how the model works but its just s*** sometimes.

Yes, but surely all the more reason why we should stick to our principles of being Palace and if our manager takes the piss then kick him out. We are what we are.

I’d rather be in the Championship with a team full of committed players and a manager that fights for the club, rather than one who moans when he doesn’t get what he wants and players who want to leave as soon as they have 3 decent games on the spin.

I thought the tone, comments in general and overall outcome was as good as it could be.

No one could walk back everything but I left pumped that we had a motivated manager and players.

Unless results tank or our number one candidate becomes available then we can press on for more silverware on 2026.

The irony of everything is that our cup exits have actually given us real hope for the 2 competitions we remain in.

In Glasner we have a chance to make more history.

When you are angry the truth comes out, and "i DONT CARE" will be his epitaph from Palace for me, not that i liked him anyway
Yes, that rather sticks in my memory too, but I really don't know what to make of him.
But I guess what we're all really interested in is how the players relate to him and perform for the rest of the season.

I will wait until after Glasner has gone and Parish has given some hints on what was said by him to Glasner this week before reaching an opinion.

I suspect, and hope, he read him the riot act and left him in no doubt as to what is expected and what the consequences of any backsliding will be. I guess he was given a script to learn prior to today’s press conference.

There are two simple priorities for Glasner for the remaining months. Gather enough points to ensure there is no last weeks risk of relegation and then and only then, try to win the Conference League. Should there be the slightest repeat of last week he will be sent on his way.

Dealing with next year’s squad is not his business.

For me, part of the joy of supporting Palace is that we will never truly compete with the historical big clubs on a level basis or for a sustained period. I love that we are the underdog punching above our weight, and we have these periods in time when we give it a bloody good go.
We all know the system is broken and the best we can hope for is our day in the sun. For a club of our size we have had so many what if moments with promotions, relegations, semi final defeats, near bankruptcy. We even came close twice before in the final and had our hearts ripped out, which is why the fa cup win was so GLORIOUS, finally our day in the sun.

The problem with our day in the sun is that it shines a bloody big ray of light on us and we become victims of our own success!
They can take our manager, take our best players, deny us Europe, and relegate us 4th from bottom.
BUT they will never be able to take away that feeling when that final whistle went. They will never be able to take away the pride in our team and they will never be able to take our name out of the record books.
What is more important is they will never stop us supporting Palace through the good times and the bad!
Keep your chins up.
