Oliver Glasner Press Conferences

Well I guess that’s what you call “owning it”! ……and what makes him the best manager we’ve ever had.

I am extremely pleased he and Steve have sorted things out like adults - if anyone can turn all the negative emotions around then it’s Ollie.

Hope we can just get those couple of additions that will give the squad (and us) the lift they/we need.

All things considered, that probably went about as well as it could have done. He sounded surprisingly upbeat and confident. Thankfully, it sounds like he and Parish have managed to settle this responsibly over a steak and a pint. Also, I think it is important to highlight that JP has not requested a transfer and that no offer has been received, so that should put that to bed, too (at least until an actual offer is received).

Yet another 'War' that Donald Trump has stopped. 😛 😛

Felt kinda bad for him, clearly missing his family.

Unfortunately Glasner came along two seasons too late. Tale end of our best players and them inevitably leaving the club.
That's easily fixed, God a few spoken lies and the man is good again, are all the rants, pathetic lineups, awful performances, lack of tactical awareness are forgotten, he is like a double glazing salesmen, will say anything except whats on his mind, i wouldn't like him with me in the trenches, would shoot me in the back and blame someone else, of course i want Palace to win, but i want him gone ASAP

OG: I don't regret what I said, I could have said it better but I don't regret it. This shows what we have achieved that there is such spirit and belief. But this is me, I know I'm not perfect despite wanting to be but I won't attack anyone personally. We see every game that small margins decide the result and I got the feeling that all together we could have done better. I expect from myself, the players, the club we give 100% and I think we could have done better. I wanted to express that but I could have done that better but I don't regret it. I was asked if it could happen again and I said yes.

OG: I didn't feel better about my future last week. I went back to Austria and we all had a few days off. I was just thinking about the Sunderland game and what we would do and say on Wednesday when we were back. The messaging has to be clear, lets forget all the noise and focus on football. We have to improve our game - not massively - but in fine margins. I watched the game back, we played well for 55 minutes and then because of our situation one or two things don't work and we get frustrated, don't play well for 20 minutes and we lost the game. We have done much better in our patterns, in defending and attacking.

We have time to work on things and improve, look at where we have been and use that with the new players. The whole right side being new and being unfamiliar for example, now is the time to work on it. Players were exhausted after Wednesday because we did not have sessions like that. We have made a good step forward regarding set plays which was often talked about. But, for us that was important, we did not concede with a set piece against Sunderland and we will make another step forward on Sunday. The consequence of that will be better results and then we can just talk about football.

OG: Palace fans can be calm, Zaha left, AWB was sold and many other big players have left but the club has been consistently at this level for 15 years. The fans can rely on Steve guarantees moving forward. In a calendar year we were 6th and won two trophies - can you move forward from that or do you have to accept in a season mid-table. Look at other teams in this range, Bournemouth/Brighton etc. are also part of this model so of course sometimes you get moments where you lose 4 starters but you can improve from 15th where we were at that time when I joined. We have all done a good job in the past 2 years to replace those players and be more successful. Its challenging in a difficult market to replace and it is not easy but I can tell the fans to stay calm, trust the club as they are doing their best. Everyone wants the same for Palace and why I reacted in the way I did because I care about Crystal Palace, I would never be different and is why I like to think I am successful. You cannot spend 80 hours a week away from your family without being like that. I give 100%, Parish give 100%, Matt Hobbs gives 100% and the other owners too. I know it doesn't feel like that but we are really committed to turn this round and sometimes this is needed to shake things up and move forward. It was a big storm on Sunday but we came back on Wednesday and it’s sunshine again.

OG: Sarr is back, bit tired but he has done well. He came back with success and we have to deal with bringing him back in positive into a bad situation. Him and Munoz will help change the mood which is great to see. Doucoure was back for 20 minutes for the first time back with the group. Cheick is a lovely guy and the whole group is pleased for him, all that helps to get the mood back. We need to win against Chelsea, but we know everything has to be perfect to do that and that is why Steve and I sat together to talk and then I talk to the team because they deserved to know what is happening between their Managers.

This week was very positive in manner aspects and this feels like we can start going up again. We know the requirements needed to get the win. On Tuesday this press conference could have been different and we would not have known what was needed but now we do.
