As well as the kit they’ve gone retro with the match day programme as well from 1976, which is good for the memories for us old lags

Thats not true, there's never been a home or away kit, they were just branded as such, when clubs decided to cash in selling replica kits. Years ago it was the home team that would change to their alternative strip, out of respect for the opposition, they wouldnt have to travel carrying 2 sets of kits, this then changed. It was the same in Rugby, they only changed it a couple years ago in the 6 nations that the away team would play in their alternative kit.

Why would they be carrying two kits? Surely in that scenario they'd only carry the change strip.

Anyway, we may be talking about different eras from each other here, but yes there was a time when the home kit would always be the home kit, and the away kit would always be the away kit.

I remember it very well and watched enough of it.

I've ordered the Eagle Wings kit for me and each of my sons today. Excited. Well, not the full kit for me obviously, I'm not that much of a tosser.
