To be honest, I can't remember a long time ago. I think we finished second in the league that year, Div 3, behind Coventry City; my memory of that time is very sketchy. Then I went off and joined the Army, and didn't go to Palace for a very long time. I do remember Wembley and Claridges shinned goal, and Sheffield United the year after, the Hopkins curler. I can't even remember the years that those games happened, as I said a long time ago.

Yeah, great times. In those days went up to the Palace with Denny Warren RIP, went to school with him and used to hang out with him, Roy Ashby, Bob Purden, Steven Watts, whose son Grant Watts played for Palace. Lots of us went to the Palace; we stood in the Arfur too, not the Holmesdale. We used to hang around in Rommany Road, West Norwood, and all went to Kingsdale School together. Football and Palace in those days ruled our lives; great days.

Yeah, Denny was a handful and quick in those days. As I remember, a scaffolder, his name was Denis, but we all called him Denny. He actually lived on Rommany Road at the time, so did I.

It kills me that we won the FA Cup in the worst home shirt we've ever had.

As an aside, my late father was a teacher there, late 60's early 70's his 1st name was Fred or Freddie. Music, English & PE. Went on a couple of school hols.

I left Kingsdale in 1962, aged 15, so I might never have known your father.

Once I noticed the sponsor is large and the badge is small I can't un see it and it's put me right off it.

We play Everton away in 5 weeks

So will reframe from getting the home kit it’s not warming to me at all

I got to admit, on screen, the kit looked quite nice... but that's from a distance... in context..

as a shirt to wear, no chance...
