Next season's kit

problem is we switched back to red n blue stripes the year Mullery(spit) took over for a season so the improvement didn’t happen straight away, but I can see your point if the s*** years going into the 80’s is your only memory of it
A permanent memory etched into my brain is Son of, and actual, Aylott.

Another is the Liverpool 9 Palace 0 match.

I had not made the Mullery connection but now you mention it this makes me feel a whole lot better, so thank you!

I moved to London as a young man in 1973 and started supporting Palace immediately despite being in the middle of a double relegation under Big Mal. But that Venables team and that sash shirt - loved it then and like the new one.

Definitely one for us oldies (well most of us)

Enjoy your youth, young padawan. It passes quickly.
One day you'll be answering questions about the legend of Jaydee Canvot and what life was like in the dark days before our Champions League triumphs.
When we're playing in gold and pink I will be telling the grandkids "Nathan Ferguson used to play in red and blue" and they'll say "Grandad hasn't been taking his meds"

Bloody hell I was at Anfield for the 9-0 and you’re right I forgot we was wearing it then🫣 I suppose I didn’t count it because it was our away kit

We did have a few donkeys wear that Aylott version of the sash I must admit, Mahoney, brown, Jones, McCulloch, I’m starting to see your point 🤣

My Dad was checking the score on Teletext. Every time he looked Liverpool had scored another goal. He came close to getting Radio Rental to send him a replacement TV remote.

someone is a new fan...
New fan am I? I have been supporting Palace since 1963, aged 15, when I lived in West Norwood. I had to stop going when I joined the Army in 1964. I had a season ticket for years, even when I moved to Wivenhoe, Essex, in 2009 and was going to every game every other week in those days, up until 2016. I have been to the old Wembley twice and the new one twice, all with Palace. The only reason I stopped going was when I retired and couldn't afford to travel from Norfolk, where I now live. Cost of living and all that. I even did my bit by putting my hand in my pocket for the game on Monday 5th April 2010 against PNE when we were asked to sponsor the team; remember that one, I do. So, yeah, I am a new fan, ain`t I?
