So we lose 1-0 instead he gets his teams score 1 goal a game on avg . You want that . Its not ideal at the moment but shut up shop and not attack . I sooner get relegated and I thought I would ever say that ever
But it’s not like we attack now is it? We just also concede loads as well. Our attacking play is awful under Sage. In the League we average one goal a game with zero in the last three. That puts us on track to score fewer goals than last season which was like watching paint dry at times.

If you are advocating getting in a manager who will get us playing attacking football then ok because we sure aren’t playing that right now

So you was hoping we was going to go all out attack against spuds with 10 men mmmm . Newcastle , did you only watch 15 minutes of the second half. Or you did watch the game but never see us spending most our time in there half attacking there goal and creating good chances . Also there keeper was busier than ours

I think the relevant point is we didn’t score or really create many chances in those games. If they were one offs then ok but they aren’t. We haven’t scored in over half our league games.

It’s also just a fact we are on pace to score fewer league goals than last year which most people said was a poor one for our attacking play.

If you are into XG we currently have a Legaue XG of 11 which puts us 15th out of all Premier League clubs.

Whichever way you look at it and whichever measure you want to pick the attacking play is poor. It’s just not getting attention because the defence is such a full on bin fire.

By the way I am not sure saying we had lots of the ball in their half but couldn’t score is quite the evidence of a functional attack you think it is. In fact I would argue that having lots of the ball against a very poor Newcastle team and failing to score or really create many chances is evidence of the opposite

I'd take 15th.

We started the season being very good going forward but completely open.

He's tried to address the balance, and has done it well in the odd game (Leeds), and in periods (1st half Newcastle). But it also hasn't been helped with 2 first half sending offs.

We are now in what feels like an even trickier situation, where we have tightened up a little (but still make utterly stupid mistakes), to the detriment of the attack.

It feels like 50% of the goals conceded are unmarked back post headers.....thats got to be a relatively easy one to sort

It was already unforgivable to concede like that again in our last game. I can just imagine us doing it again in the next game.

I hear you but also other teams don’t stand still. Having seen our first few games other teams will realise they can set up relatively defensively against us because you don’t need to commit much going forward to score against us. Our goals mostly came against Fulham and Ipswich who played almost as open as we did. When teams have tightened up against us we’ve really struggled going forward but continued to lose for the reasons you say

Personally disagree...we've looked very exciting going forward in most games this season. Obviously bar a few.

I get the not scoring , but we are very short on goal scorers which is not sages making , fit Sarr and Mateta from the start and we wouldn't be having this conversation. The defending has improved alot , yes still mistake but less . Spuds game could easily have been 5,6,7 with 10 men but they did overall put in a strong performance. Spuds was kept at bay alot of the time . Tonight is hoff , goals in Europe have come 8 in 3 games , so lets hope we can start doing that in the lge more often

Looked at our results in 3 lge games we scored 8 , same Europe 8 and lge cup 4 . Now if we can do that more in lge than cups , so it does show we do attack and score . By the way xg was 1.6 against Newcastle as you said conversion from attack helps more than just attack you need a end result

If a change happens, at some point in the future, I wouldn't bet against Glasner returning

Every presser that passes just gives me the impression of how amateur this set-up is. Does sage know anything about football other than telling his troops to dash up the field?
