All his birthdays have come at once.Isn't he meant to be joining Spurs if they stay up?

ANDONI IRAOLA is “close” to joining Crystal Palace ahead of his imminent departure from Bournemouth, sensational reports suggest.

IF it's true, and IF he does come and IF Man United really were interested in him then Steve must have done one hell of a sales job. What can he possibly have promised him?Still has me musing that Woody will take over. The crazy January raised my suspicions too. I wondered how we suddenly had that money. In a takeover, I'm presuming debts can be paid off, which would free up a load for us. Not sure fully how much money can be put in if a team is sold.
Iraola must surely have been promised funds? I'm not sure anyone except the most, shall we say basic of managers, would fancy Palace without a decent transfer kitty.
However, we could be estimating maybe selling JPM - which is understandable. But I'm worried Wharton will go and we'll be buying the rest of Wolves.

Or a refurbished volcano somewhere in Anerley. Olise, Mbappe and Lamine Yamal and a Morley's loyalty card. His own mountain lair.

Did hear Parish was on his knees when talking to him 🫣🫣IF it's true, and IF he does come and IF Man United really were interested in him then Steve must have done one hell of a sales job. What can he possibly have promised him?

Maybe unlike some other managers he doesn’t have an inflated opinion of his own ability, and sees us as a good bet to continue his upward path for a few years, rather than taking a punt at somewhere like Man U. We’ve seen plenty crash and burn there. If Iraola is even considering joining, you have to wonder what the proposal on the table is from Palace. Is it just a highly attractive salary, or are we planning another spending spree? Of course, we don't know what offers he's had and it might be that, despite speculation in the press, other offers have not been forthcoming. I'd love him to join, but I still struggle to see why he would when his stock is so high.

If he does come, hopefully that's the reason, but there is an argument that Bournemouth's squad is better than ours. There is an increasingly strong possibility they could be playing Champion's League football next season, or at least Europa, so I would ask what it is that we are offering that they are not? We have a much bigger ground, and we're not in Bournemouth, which I suppose are two pluses.Maybe unlike some other managers he doesn’t have an inflated opinion of his own ability, and sees us as a good bet to continue his upward path for a few years, rather than taking a punt at somewhere like Man U. Not to Man City it isn't. They mask it all with loans and ridiculous sponsorship deals from their airline.I'd be more than very pleasantly surprised if Iraola agreed to join us, I'd be shocked. Perhaps suspicious, even. Surely we are a sideways step at a point where his reputation, and chance of getting a big club, will not get any higher? Why would he even consider Palace? If he wants a good, stable mid table side and Europe then why not just stay at Bournemouth? Does he lack confidence? Does he just want to live in London? It would be baffling.
The idea that Woody Johnson might buy the whole club and pump money in for new signings would make perfect sense as an explanation if not for the fact that he can't. FFP. The club can only spend what it makes. The owners personal wealth is irrelevant.

No worse thing todoIf Iraola does come he ought to be involved in some way before the Conference final!
He previously managed Rayo Vallecano!
