Can’t see us re-signing Glasner, the risk of Déjà vu and Parish made to look stupid again are too great - OG signs a 12 month extension on the back of promised squad strengthening, that doesn’t happen (identified players not available, money needed for spiralling stadium or other costs) OG loses it again and has another rant - and we’re back to square one

I doubt the veracity of this story, but if by any chance true, I'm not sure Iraola would be a good choice.
To make a major career decision to join Palace based on whether the club competes in Europe or not in a given season is not exactly a ringing endorsement of a commitment to the club's vision.
It also could indicate a willingness to jump ship as soon as a club better equipped to compete in Europe came calling.

So, Muñoz, Guehi, Andersen, Lacroix, Mitchell, Wharton, Olise, Eze, Sarr, Mateta not better than Humphreys, Thorn, Young, Shaw, Thomas, McGoldrick, Salako, Bright and Wright, only Wright went on to greener fields, i think that 89/91 was a great team, but not many international caps between them, maybe your memory is playing tricks with you, 4 years in the top division.

Its a different era and the new nutrition, foreigners and fitness regime hadn't taken hold. Against their opposition of the day, they finished 3rd our highest ever finish.
Andersen left 2 years ago and didn't play with nearly half you listed.

Yet they finished 3rd in 91!!

Plus back then it was a smaller squad, so less players to gain international caps, also there wasn’t the foreigners in the game then that gain caps now for random countries that didn’t exist back then, there’s non-league players with international caps for far flung islands in the South Pacific these days😂 so the international argument is bollox

I mean, if you look at general athleticism and sports science etc etc etc I would argue that league 1 teams of today would beat most(if not all) top flight teams of the late 80's/early 90's. It's totally unfair to compare. Sport and athletes progress.

And rules changes , 90/91 team would be reduced to 5 men before half time , today's footballers fall down just looking at them , a Thomas tackle would have them running home to mummy , so for me today's squad ok but not as good on that alone

More likely Chelsea so. I wonder is it too late to change Glasner’s mind given his latest statement about how much he loves working with this group of players ? I would hate to see Dyche or Rosenior get it and at this stage would gladly keep Glasner or take Frank.
Thomas or Lampard ? Think we might of kept our powder a little dry to see who is available season end. Interestingly Thomas Frank has been quiet about a return and Ireola hasn't mentioned his destination end of season. Naturally these scenarios will happen as possible agreements will be secret. Let's hope this will all unravel fairly quickly after seasons end n preparations can then be made for a structured opening season rather than the usual chaos. COYP !!
