Netflix or Amazon Prime

Which is better ?
Netflix has upped it's subscription to £12.99 and it may be time for a change.
Amazon is £8.99 but is it worth it ? I could go for the free 1 month trial and then decide.

TBH cost is not really an issue but think the 18% Netflix increase is taking the mickey after the change last year about sharing an account.

Any thoughts/experiences with Amazon ?

It depends what you need it for I guess - Prime has wider benefits (next day delivery etc.) and also gets more sport, including Prem football a few times a season.

But they also make you watch adverts despite paying a subscription fee, and a lot of the more recent movies they show also require an additional rental fee.

If it's purely for TV and movies, I think Netflix has a better range of options, but there's also value in just alternating between them every few months - 6 months to watch anything that catches your eye on Netflix, then cancel it and do the same on Prime.

I seem to watch quite a lot on IPlayer these days -

Only watch Amazon Prime if the wife has ordered something from them & its cheaper to get a month of Amazon Prime than it is to pay the delivery charge (basically anything over £5.00 for delivery & I go for Amazon Prime for a month)

Apple TV is quite good if you want to watch Ted Lasso - I found it easy enough to get on there with a couple months free subscription & binge watched it -

Bloody hell, reading this back I sound like a real cheapskate, lol

Neither are worth it.

If people keep supporting the way these two do business expect to keep seeing a lot more price increases plus sneaking in things like ads.

I subscribe to Netflix through my EE broadband account and Amazon Prime separately with an annual payment which is currently £95.

Of the two I reckon Prime is the best value due to the benefit of free Amazon deliveries, and their music app in addition to the videos. The films on Prime are varied and the selection includes more older 'classic' titles which appeal to me. And, as someone else wrote, they do get to show some Premier league games.

Get Netlix for €7.99 over here and it's the same as UK. Only have amazon where they have a decent series like Reacher the cancel after it's finished. Movies on amazon are rubbish and mostly old.

Both have got worse over the years with adds and the promotion of woke in anything they produce themselves . Ive ditched both ,well I get Netflix with my sky package but I certainly wouldn't pay for it separately .
Paramount is far superior to both IMO but I suppose it all boils down to what your tastes are when watching tv

I’ve lost count of the films on Amazon I’ve started and given up because they’re so bad. There does seem a lot of rubbish on there.
I’ve only got it in the first place because of The Grand Tour and Clarksons farm
