Musk

Who on the planet is going to want to spend 9 months in a tin can getting to Mars, then when you get there, there's nothing to do ?

It would require some kind of lunatic to go to Mars. Unless it's some really fit astronauts, and then they can occupy themselves.

Could be a good option for the early release scheme. Do your full term in The Scrubs or go to Mars.

Fascinating listening to Musk. He has certainly gone out on a limb and probably needs to double up his security.

I'm sure he will be branded a liar or silenced for miss information, but really, he has only said what many think but are too afraid to do so.

5th November might be a bonfire night to remember!

maybe you could experience things on Mars that are impossible on Earth ? like watching Palace score from a Corner ?

I read today that Musk, Bezos & Zuckerburg are part of an elite financial group who are worth $200bn+, it went on to say that Musk will become the 1st Trillionaire in 2027 at the current rate of interest etc. Bonkers money.

Why doesn't he invest in an SE25 based football club? He'd be planning a league game on the moon or something equally sensible.

Like many with so much power he's gone rather barmy. He has dreams of owning and terraforming Mars.
Now I'm all for having ambition but there's a limit.

If he did have some sort of success in his venture, he is more than welcome to stay there. It's roughly 50% further from the Sun than Earth. It may have subterranean water but that's by no means certain.

The fact that he's also pro Trump just compounds my notion about his soundness of mind.

Shoot for the stars and you might just land on the moon. That's what they say?
So why not shoot for the stars? He could end up with a moon base.

The only negative press for Elon is coming from the looney lefties as soon as he switched from being a Democrat and having really good relations with Obama to now trump.

I'm on the look out for a spaceX t shirt if anyone knows where to get one?

Elon is the man!

Where else but Amazon!

That’s pretty much my opinion.

He must have had some kind of breakdown to be coming out with these things. There’s a difference between being eccentric and/or left field and being ridiculous.

I guess the problem with being super rich is who is able to tell him he is not making sense.

The markets are the only way to do that, but he appears not to listen to them either. So until he really starts to lose all his money, him losing his marbles is something we will continue to have to witness.

I don’t find it the least fascinating. I find it disturbing that anyone who has to be reasonably intelligent to have enjoyed the business success he has can be so politically stupid. He is off the rails.

If others seriously think like this then there really is a big problem in the USA.

You always come over as a decent guy, even if you tolerate Trump. Something I don’t believe is possible for anyone with any kind of sense of reality.

So a serious question. If Trump loses, which to me now seems likely, will you personally accept it as a democratic decision or resist it?

The idea that people can be so indoctrinated by disinformation that they are prepared to challenge a verified result gives me nightmares.

Major Tom I guess.

Some people hate Musk for his politics and they can't see beyond that.

He has been one of the must influential businessmen in my lifetime. Yes he is on the spectrum so sometimes he says outrageous things so people forget his achievements.

He said he would launch satellites so that the internet was available around the world he was rubbished at the time but I think he has launched 6000 a fantastic achievement. His car company (built from scratch) has pushed the boundaries of the electric car whilst the major manufacturers just stood by wringing their hands. He has made major advances in automated production (gigafactory) and extending the life of car batteries.

Yes he had had failures but what genius doesn't, on balance he has done far more good then bad.
