Music that makes you want to cry

Top tunes all.

None make me weep.

The Marseillaise in Casablanca though...
Casablanca is a movie which if you have never seen, you have seen. Along with the Wizard of Oz* it is one of the most ripped off movies of all time.

The Marseillaise scene has been reimagined many times.

Round Up the Usual Suspects is another meme.

*Over the Rainbow. Judy breaks your heart.

My dads funeral song was ‘my way’ Frank Sinatra, 32 years he’s been gone and it still brings a tear to my eye when I hear it, in fact I never get long into it before I have to turn it off.

Even the Sid Vicious version has the same effect 🥲

It's not the song , in most cases.

It's the association. I have one or two I just can't listen to.
One of them being the Bryan Adams and Sporty Spice duet "when you're gone". And not just because it's cringe-worthy 😁😁

Which has reminded me, my mother went to a funeral last month, where the first tune played was "smack my bitch up", by the Prodigy.
My mother said her (dead) friend had had a strange sense of humour

You need Rock, Rock and Rock, with a little bit of swing 😎 and Tom Waits who is in a genre of his own, IMO the most remarkable of Singers/Writter/Pianist

Don't hear it any more but as a kid I always found Puff the Magic Dragon a sad song. Little Jackie Paper?
He could have at least dropped in now and again but did he? No. Total b******.
Or maybe it really was all about drugs after all.

This song is often played at funerals. An unrequited Love song. An older bloke fancies a young-wan and knows its a futile endeavour. Play it on your headphones while commuting in the morning, and simultaneously discretely observing an unnamed beauty who is way out of your league.
If that doesn't make an Old Fart of an Eagle cry, then nothing will.
