Lineker at least grudgingly admitted that we had only lost once in nine games. Leicester, and the resident scouser’s Fulham will always be on before us, so we’ll always be battling it out with Southampton and Everton for last place.

Same, not long after the games have finished you can just click on 2 or 3 minute highlights of every game, it does me

It does amuse me though that this day and age of recording, instant streaming and finding anything you want at the touch of a button people still moan about the running order of motd, do people still religiously put it on at 10.30 and patiently sit through every game and all the waffle just waiting for us to come on? 😀

I quite like that part of shows. Not many chances to be old school
These days.

On Youtube, BEIN and Canal+ usually have extended highlights of nearly all the matches.

I think this is one of the points. It's more of a tradition. I find it really boring that everything's available whenever I want. So I find it kind of funny and old school to watch MOTD - when we do well. I don't bother when we're sh1t - who'd watch that again?

Fair comment, I watch enough old stuff for old times sake that’s for sure. If you still like it fine, each to their own.
Also I respect the fact that some people only have free view, no way of recording and no internet. But I’m sure not everyone moaning about what time our game is on is in that position
In my dark days of twitter before I binned it, it was amazing how many palace fans tweeted Gary Lineker every week moaning about the running order, as if he has a say in it 🤣

You watch it twice a season then? 😀

But to be honest, that’s the only time I might search it up and fast forward to our game if we’ve had a good win, but even then it’ll be annoying, they don’t show all the chances and they might show a chance in the analysis that they completed missed showing in the actual highlights

I’d love to know who does decide. It’s clearly based on featuring the big teams, presumably to do with viewing figures although most people who watch enjoy (if that’s the right word) seeing all the highlights. My guess is Lineker has a say but I wonder how much Murphy et al are involved in the analysis stuff. Do they set it up or simply learn their lines after some tech person preps it?
I accepted being last when we were boring and involved in 0-0 or 1-0 games but we’re not getting a fair crack of the whip now. Interesting to see Brentford way down the list yesterday despite all those goals!

I'm not exactly an avid viewer but I have a mate who'll literally go home from the pub to watch it. It's kind of nice to have something like that in this day and age.

Must admit i always try to catch the BBC news at 6 - and the iTv news at 10 still even though news is actually available anytime on demand now. Some old habits !
