More covid

You are obsessed with a very simple subject that doesn’t really require any explanation.

Biological sex is straightforward. Not always binary, but straightforward. Gender isn’t. People can feel they have been born in the wrong body. Their perceptions don’t match their physical appearance.
Without wishing to be insensitive. This appears to be a case of some sort of mental/mind disorder. If it's not biological it can only in a psychological disorder.

A bit like "covid" lol

He doesn't know how to read anything except the Guardian opinion section, from where he downloads 'his' views.
People on here who normally insult each other suddenly bonded on a very compassionate subject, that has probably touched most people.

Wisbech then copies and pastes literature on when a baby is a viable being. I thought it was insensitive and ill thought at best.

His response is puzzling, starts talking about himself being a hero. Lol

There isn’t anything the least puzzling about my comment. At least to those with the eyes to actually read it and the brain to comprehend it.

Let me ask you some questions. These are ethical questions which go to the heart of the differences between the anti abortion lobby and those who accept it’s sometimes necessary.

Firstly, do you approve of IVF being available to those who want it?

IVF, as I expect you know, involves the removal of an egg, or eggs, from a woman and for it, or they, to be fertilised in a laboratory. Not all will become fertilised, but some will and they will be single cells, called zygotes. These contain DNA and are biological life. 5 days later, after cell divisions they become embryos. These are then usually frozen, with the best and most viable then implanted into the woman. If she is lucky a few weeks later she announces she is pregnant and is beginning the 9 month journey which ends, hopefully, with the birth of a healthy baby.

If there are “spare” embryos they are kept in frozen storage, for a while at least, in case the implant fails or a second child is contemplated.

However, the “spare” embryos are often not needed and are then destroyed.

Do you approve of this destruction? They are after all “life” and contain human DNA. Implanted into a womb they would have a good chance of becoming babies.

If you do then what is the difference between that and an abortion before the age of viability?

Nothing to say here. You've said it all.

I asked ethical questions.

Do you not have, or don’t want to provide, answers?

One of those must be true.

I suspect you are trying to avoid answering because you cannot face up to the reality. We all have an emotional response to this subject. That’s natural and understood. Others though need to step back and deal only with facts rather than emotions.

There's a good debate by Charlie Kirk on the topic of IVF.

Create a new thread if you want to discuss ethics or morality.

But anyways back to covid 🤧
It seems they do things differently in the USA, or Charlie Kirk is wrong.

Here only one embryo is ever implanted so multiple births do not result from IVF.

At least he acknowledged the ethical dilemma and found a way to answer it, even if the answer is illogical.

I have only seen snippets of Novak Djokovics documentary on x and he talks about the ordeal and discrimination he was put through by not getting the jab. It may be worth a watch if given the time.

I think it's on prime. I might save it for a "work from home" day.
