Mateta to AC Milan?

The same era as Tommy Langley, Chris Jones and ‘Old Neddy’ himself (Trevor Aylott). What a load of s*** strikers we had back in the early ‘80s 😳.
Ian Edwards, Tony Brown, Gary Goodchild, Offside Sealy, Tony Evans, Steve Galloway, Mick Hill, David Kemp, Jeff Bourne, Steve Perrin, Selhurst walk of shame 🤣

Did he play for Palace? He became an icon i northen Sweden, if it's the same person I guess.

Tony Mahoney, my all time favourite when it comes to absolute crap, Trevor Aylott and Tommy Langley very very close, saw Lanzo's list and was surprised to see David Kemp and Jeff Bourne there, from what I remember they were pretty good, just shows how people's opinions differ. As an aside David Price was absolutely dire from memory, considering he was the success he was at the Arsenal

David Price was a joke. Don't know what happened. Reactions of a plank. Mobility of Aunt Sally when Worzel wasn't trying to get his leg over.

Can remember one game he played for us (forget against who) considering he played in midfield the first touch he had was 25 minutes into the game. Anyway sorry to divert the thread

He was incredibly forgettable apart from the genuine hope we had when we signed him. I would have forgotten him forever, thankfully, if you hadn't mentioned him. I remember Aylott well. I mean, he even got maybe 9 goals one season. I seem to remember him pointing it out at one stage. Aylott lived on through his son. Price - well forgotten.

It's the same person. Saw he had a mad record in Sweden. Like a goal every couple of games. He was barely non league standard for us. Which is where we got him from. We had hopes but he didn't deliver anything of note and was quickly sent out but barely even featured on loan or even non league for a couple of years.

Steve Galloway was know for his scoring, social nightlife and big dick and now has a restaurant chain in northen Sweden, well ha had last time I was up there.

Johnson may not have scored , he played I think 3 games in munoz position , and as someone who has played in that position he done well , so dont just judge by his goal scoring ,

there is a big difference between them two in style,s of play also when was the last time nketiah scored double figures , he has only scored 14 goals total were in top tier johnson has 21 with his last season at spurs being his best , and thats without championship goals for forest , I have more faith in johnson getting it right than nketiah
Johnson has played inside-forward, which he was signed for, and he was anonymous at best, wasteful at worst. Yes he's also filled in well at right-wingback when we needed it, that has nothing to do with his performance at inside forward vs Nketiah's.

Glasner might lure Johnson to his 'spiritual home', he was popular at the club and hails from West Bridgford !
Imagine the scenario - Johnson returns to Selhurst Park with Glasner and scores the winner for Nottm Forest !!!!
If you can persuade Don Mary Knickers of that scenario, to the tune of 30 - 35m, I will gift you a lifetime supply of Worther's Originals in appreciation.

Glasner has said that Mateta has been the best striker that he has ever worked with.
While allowing for some poetic licence from Glasner to boost Mateta’s confidence, he clearly rates him highly.
No surprise there if you look at Mateta’s goal record playing under Glasner which was amongst the best in the Premier League.

At Forest the reliable Chris Wood will be 35 this year and has picked up injuries.
It would not surprise me if Glasner tried to bring Mateta to Forest on a significantly enhanced package ( apparently Palace haven’t offered Mateta what he thinks he’s worth).
Then it becomes a question of if Mateta gets a better offer from another club.

Palace won’t want Mateta to go on a free , just as didn’t with Guehi.

It was Ally Brown not Tony Brown who was the very effective ‘Bomber’ Brown for West Brown. As for the last 3 you mention David Kemp was a class act alongside my namesake, without Jeff Bourne’s goals we would never have got out of Div 3 in ‘77? and Steve Perrin was average. The others were useless I grant you.
