Marc Guéhi

I really hope Glasner is on board with this. If he is pissed off and leaves, it's hard to believe 35m (minus Chelsea's cut) makes it worth it. By no means a small sum but when you consider his quality and that Wissa is going for 55m (also in last year of his contract), Guehi's price is an absolute steal.
Scarcity of strikers and importance of goals is the reason. Plus probably Guehi only wants to go to Liverpool now or next summer. Whenever in Marc’s eyes.

FFS. Gutted as he was a rolls Royce defender. I think it’s a case of who plays with him at the bin dippers not who plays with VVD.

What I just don’t understand and what is the worry, is why we didn’t get the cover in at the start of pre season as OG requested. This just does not make sense. Parish has done so many good things for Palace but the ball was well and truly dropped the ball on this one.

Ok maybe I used the wrong wording. But if he wanted to leave he should have said so a long time before now to give the management time to get in a suitable replacement. But all along he has stated that he is commited.
He's committed (or was) to fulfilling his contract and playing hard for the club: which he did. Obviously he was not committed to playing the rest of his career here. Otherwise he would have signed a contract extension that would have paid him probably more than twice what he was on

Well, that was John Textor's take - clubs have funds, billionaire owners etc etc but aren't allowed to invest.

Not that I would trust him to run the financials of CPFC !

The rules actually favour the ' establishment ' - the ' new money ' - Newcastle for example, aren't able to financially gatecrash their party.
But it was and is funny laughing at them celebrating future premier league titles and football dominance that won’t happen. You are right though. Protect the big clubs, plus Chelsea and Man City. Neither were big.

We can kiss Glasner goodbye now as well then.
Parish you are one prize c*** for doing this to our manager you spineless gobshite.
You've had your go with your three stooges so now please feel free to f*** off and take them with you.
I for one am not going to spend the rest of my days bowing to you for saving the club with your mates who by the way , did the right thing and buggered off when they knew their time was up, unlike you.
I hope you're pleased with crapping all over the best coach in our history!
Wow. Slagging off the most successful chairman of our history.

Have you thought for a second that Glasner doesn't want to stay beyond his 2 year contract?
He's never managed a club for longer than 2 years before. Then he leaves and waits for the next big job to roll through the door.

In my opinion, for what it's worth, Glasner is doing exactly the same as Marc Guehi.
I'm pretty sure he's told the board he will not be extending his contract, which is exactly the reason they are not backing him this window.

They will save their money to invest with a new manager next summer.

To me, that is a very wise decision.

I can't see it mattering who SP brings in to replace OG. It seems OG feels lied to after agreeing the date whereby MG wouldn't be sold after. Can't see him trusting the board anymore, so he'll be looking for the first available exit.

SP needs to start planning for a new manager. And then hope we manage to keep OG til next summer where he can look to rectify things, prove to OG that he can do better and somehow persuade him to stay. wishful thinking.

It's not when it's our first season in Europe.

if as is being reported Guehi asked for Palace to allow him to join Liverpool after yesterday's match I don't see how Palace had any real option but to sell him assuming the terms on offer from Liverpool accord with Palace's valuation

Letting Guehi go shows the level of ambition that Parish has and if Glasner (our most successful manager) leaves that is totally his (Parish) fault.
We are still running into Aldi at last knockings then wondering why all the good stuff has gone.
He is selling our Captain and probably England’s next. Yes he would have walked away for free next June but a good chance in that time of us winning more trophies and his successor being given time to develop.
I would also like know what investment our American co-owners are putting into the club because at the moment it looks like bugger all! Of course it’s secret…
It might be Parish’s fault handling the timing of Guehi going and the replacement. But why is it Parish’s fault and not the other owners if it shows there’s a lack of ambition? Btw, we don’t know who we’re going to sign yet. He might fit in well. We did better with Sarr than Olise, Pino looks good too. Let’s see hey?

Certainly holding onto the hope of a Lacroix type rabbit being pulled out of a magic hat

He should have been sold last year for the quoted 70 million, egos got in the way and now he’s going for half fee and still don’t have a replacement, nothing to do with Marc he’s done his job right to the very end, now we wait to see if next year we need a new manager, someone has to hold their hands up to this, who’s right , who’s wrong doesn’t matter now, and as usual it’s the palace supporters that in my mind once again suffer! Mr Parish have a long good look in the mirror, egos should never mix with business no matter who pissed you off last year .
Why do you think Parish’s ego got in the way of Guehi being sold last summer for £70 mil? From what it looked like, Guehi wasn’t too interested in Newcastle and now has the better team and club and wants to go. So what do you think now?

Glasner isn't going anywhere now.

We've all heard what he's said about players honouring contracts. He is the same.

A lot of us are freelance and represent the company we're working for to the best of our ability, so that we get repeat business or work from other clients.

Football is exactly the same. Unless you're Isak. But Marc encapsulates this.

You work to the best of your ability to show off what you can do till your contract is over. Same for Narc, same for OG.

I'd largely agree on Glasner and I think some people have perhaps been distracted by the success Glasner has brought and confused it with loyalty.....Glasner signed a two year contract, we were always a stepping stone.

To Parish, Palace is his be all and end all, there's no worries he'll walk out on us and he's been central to our long term success. Glasner wouldn't have been here in the first place otherwise.

Glasner has earned the ability to do what he wants and we will move on when that time comes.

Where I'd differ is on your suggestion that he hasn't been backed in the transfer market. I think he has when it comes to replacing Eze but I certainly want more than just this French youngster in to replace our captain.

We tried when we went in for Diamonde of Sporting but his price ended up being too high for our budget.

Parish said in his interview after the Community Shield, there was a lot of interest from Newcastle last year "but the player wasn't keen" (I'm paraphrasing). So if Guehi had pushed for it, the deal would have happened last summer.

But who want's to live in Newcastle?
