Malick Fofana.

Sounds like a quick back hander bung to his agent by Sunderland has sealed the deal
None of us know for sure what the dynamics are but if a player's agent(s) is/are for sale then if possible I'd want to avoid those signings where there was an alternative.

All it means is pain to get the deal over the line and more pain down the line when the timing will suit the agent(s) as much as the player, and certainly more than the club.

You have to question why we end up with our manager attempting to persuade a player he knows well to join us on deadline day. Why wasn’t Hobbs on the case earlier in the window? It feels like Sage would prefer Sarr to go after his refusal to train and decided to push for Fofana. Assuming the lad was happy with Sage at Lyon it suggest that Hobbs hasn’t exactly bust a gut to get the deal done.

There’s a lot of assumptions there. I mean you absolutely spot on but there are quite a few other possibilities that led us to this point no?

Im struggling to understand what the agents fee got to do with the deal , he is there to represent the player not him😡😡😡
I look after academy players and the agent will sell/push the club to the player where he makes more money for himself
If the fee is the same then he will earn more off the player from his earnings/add ons

Scrabbling around at the last minute for some kid we know nothing about for millions. This wasn’t the game I loved and grew up with. It’s money and greed. Even IF we sign him and even IF he’s any good he'll probably want to f##k off in a couple of years like everyone else. Sick of modern football and the vermin that inhabit it.
Ps I’ve had a few 😬

Very much my take on things and - where there are alternatives - I'd much rather lose out on players like this with scrote entourages if it means we can be competitive with players who want to be here.

Look on the bright side, it gives Parish a valid reason for his annual saying, “well we tried to get it over the line, but it’s a difficult market”.

Imagine, if when all the dust settles, it turns out we were never in for him in the first place.. Stranger things have happened. I'm just gonna wait to see what happens come 11 o'clock..

fofana only became available cos Lyon were knocked out of champions league qualification this week and therefore have to sell their best asset.

He wasn’t available till now.
