Great if it happens but not if Sarr goes. By the end of this window, we could end up with weaker front and back lines with our midfield treading water.

After winning the FA cup just 15 months ago, I naively thought it might be the dawn of a golden age for Palace.

I really should have known better.

Average age of the squad will have been reduced considerably over this window by the looks of things.

Neutral observation, without praise nor condemnation. There are positives and negatives to be had to a younger or older squad.

In general a balance needs struck. Chelsea have been trying to rectify that this summer.

So we will have (deep breath) Pino, Sarr, McNeill, Guessand, Nketiah (who does get picked to play wide), perhaps Khalili, Gozo, perhaps Deveney, Franca, and Esse plus this Fofana, and somewhere in that Drake-Thomas will hope to play sometimes.

I'm not sure that's enough wingers...

Personally I’d sell a couple of centre backs and a midfielder so we can invest more in some wide players. Especially as our system doesn’t actually use wide players. Makes complete sense

Success on the pitch is going to attract unwanted attention from other clubs as well as increased contract demands from the players who won.

As much as it sucks, paying players for past performance is the fastest way to relegation and financial ruin for the club.

Realistically Khalili is our RWB. And Deveney, Franca, and Esse will either go or be playing reserve football

Though you can only assume that this is a Sarr replacement?
