Main Stand redevelopment thread

If the reports are to be believed, and they are consistent with what Parish had said, the preferred option is for a new investor to buy into the club based on its valuation of £900 million and top up the £125 million already secured as a loan. I’m guessing they’d like someone to front up for a 10% stake at least to cover the £200 million cost of the new stand and a bit more. Having said that if an investor wanted to buy out the Americans at that price they’d be willing to sell.
Not sure where this comes from. Woody Johnson allegedly paid Textor £160m for 40% a year ago, but who knows what else was contained within the deal. However, that arguably set a precedent for our valuation. So arguably £400m. Bournemouth however went for £120m a couple of years before to another USA billionaire. Mr Foley. In the current climate, even £330m sounds super rich for CPFC (what Saudi paid for Newcastle). So not sure who in their right mind would part with £250m to build one stand. Almost certainly why the project is on long term hold.

And you know this how . Don't you think these billionaires didnt have people do there own research before investing in club , for god sake think before you wright something that is nothing more than trolling , and conspiracy theories , there isnt one person on here that is privilege to the club's financial dealings and what is discussed at their meetings , people have had no personal contact with parish or the rest , so your going by your personal hatred towards him

it's not lies it came from these own peoples mouth many years ago even SP let a few things slip it was on video and you even have Tex saying how he was tricked/lied to about ownership (You could even go back to SJ days with him)

If people tell lies again people in business world they do like what we are dealing with now from that fat greek guy legal action.

are you saying all the financial records which are available are fake and the club are committing fraud submitting false books?

Double your money in ten years need a compound interest rate of 7.2%, there are much less risky ways to achieve this return. I think they would be looking for shorter time frame
Thats the point i was making, its only what other fans have accused Blitzer and Harris of doing

Hopefully if that’s the case the Club will rebuild the Stanley Stephenson Lounge so I can get a bloody drink at half time. It’s totally out of order to force our supporters to sober up during the game 😳.

When I saw the glass it looked awesome, but now I'm just thinking that it'll end up as plain corrugated cladding with no bells or whistles.

f***ing thing unveiled in 2017 - what a joke.

Exactly, take them away from them clubs and they will all struggle, what do people want instead ? A state owned club from the middle east ? A dodgy Italian who wants to set us up as part of an MCO. I dont know of too many croydon billionaires who have got 900 million for the club, well there's Philip green, he would be a great idea.
I think the club are looking for investment not a buyer. The £900m mentioned is the realistic potentail value of the club as a benchmark for prospective investors. IE, If an investor is willing to put in say £90m, The club are saying that buys you 10% of the club. I'm not saying thats a fair reflection of the club's value right now but they are basing this on the value after the Main Stand is finished. If someone puts in that £90m that guarantees the Main Stand gets not only finished ultimately but work moves forward again.

I’m not saying they’re that bad. These people are hard bitten American financiers not Palace fans. They’re involved with us for a reason and we all know what that is. If it’s in their interests to fund ground improvements to increase their wealth they will. If not they won’t. And I can’t see how it’s in their short or medium term interests to do that. Sorry if that sounds negative.
To a businessman it doesn't sound negative at all. Its only us Palace fans that feel negativity to this viewpoint but we all have to understand out of all the many, many investors that have got involved in football in the last 20 years there are hardly any Jack Walkers that love their club and are willing to spunk money to push them up the table. Nor are there any Roman Abramovics that see the long term picture and are willing to keep losing money for the next ten years in the hope that their project will eventually be worth ten times what they paid for it.
Its short term gain for as little outlay as they can get away with. Thats not just our billionaires. Its all of them in football.

Sadly, my view is that the financial merry go round of this century is slowing down consistently now.
Where it goes next will depend on many uncertainties around the globe, none of which seem to have any upside. Problem is that most if not all the billionaire 'invest in the premier' types are far more savvy than me, and unless they have got funds they need to be dumping, or so rich that they need to spread their wings (the Saudis and neighbours) it would appear the tide has turned.
What has happened at Man City followed by the very slow and belated reaction from the Premier league will almost certainly have discouraged any newcomers to get involved. Their recent decision could not have come at a worse time and will undoubtedly continue to drag as City appeal. (Lucky lawyers).
All looking a bit gloomy really.

Gloomy but true. Agree with you.

Then the club are living in dreamland, what investor is going to buy 10% of a company for what the company will be worth in however many years time, they will pay what the club is valued at now.

You could think of this another way, however. Has it been genuinely better for fans to have all the billionaires and wealth funds owning clubs? Would be nice to have a different model in football altogether. One where money isn't the main criterion. I know - Dreamland.

And you trust Textor and Jordan word really , What idiot would put millions in a business without knowing what they have got for it .
have you been through all the records and looked at them closely and understood them , I will be honest and say I haven't .
Parish said when the 4 got us out another administration , that it will be treated like a business and also he won't let us go into administration under his watch .
we dont know what's discussed at there boards meetings , they announce what they have agreed on doing . but like all things in business if the original cost grows exponentially , you put the project on hold until you adjust costs .
I worked for a trillion dollar company and had the same with a 750k project that I was involved in from the beginning , which looked like it was coming in at 1.2m , we stopped it before it went to far .
So using liars as a back up argument are poor examples

I probably got it wrong but I always thought owners can put as much as they want into a club if it's for the physical infrastructure or Academy or even a women's team - just not for new players, wages and agents' fees.
That's correct, hence the long standing questions about why the Americans don't just pay for the new stand.

General consensus seems to be that, as investors, the proposition doesn't quite add up.
