Main Stand redevelopment thread

But woody spent 1.6b 💰 on the met life stadium . so the cost shared between the 3 is very small
Yes, but there's no such thing as the jeopardy of relegation in the NFC and in any event, Harris spent several billion buying the Washington Commanders and is due to spend the best part of a billon on a new stadium for them. Now if there was a European super league for football with no relegation and we were one of the teams (joke, laugh...) then that would be a different matter.

Hopefully if that’s the case the Club will rebuild the Stanley Stephenson Lounge so I can get a bloody drink at half time. It’s totally out of order to force our supporters to sober up during the game 😳.
Couldn't agree more Mr Dwindle. Bloody rubbish having nowhere to go before or after the game that doesn't resemble travelling on British Rail during the drivers strike, crammed in, queueing, not getting a seat. Got told after the Man City game that I couldn't go into the bar downstairs because I'd "left the stadium". I'd stepped outside the metal gate to keep out of people's way while I waited for my old mate to get down the stairs.

This weekend there are 3 changes on the way up because of engineering works. If it wasn't Forest I wouldn't bother. Think this will be my last season so I never will get to see the new stand when it's done.

But yet they aren't paying for it. As per an earlier post, they aren't palace fans made good giving something back. They are investors. Plainly, if the sums added up then they'd just pay for the stand. They must not add up, at least not when one factors in the risks.

A sad tale. And I’m afraid I’ve never felt such a disconnect with the Club and football in general. All the money, the players’ greed and disloyalty, the commercialisation of the modern game and the neutered atmosphere in the ground have left me cold.
Fortunately I only live 5 miles from the ground and have had a season ticket virtually unbroken since 1970 so it will take a fair bit more to stop me going……

As mentioned new shares is the most straight forward way to introduce fresh capital.
Our sale currently will be Harris and Blitzer's shares. Although I am surprised Johnson hasn't bought them. I guess they could be asking for a lot more than what he will pay. Plus, they may come with conditions. I. e. That Parish remains in charge under current agreements/ incorporation.

Stuck around for 10 years then.

And you trust Textor and Jordan word really , What idiot would put millions in a business without knowing what they have got for it .
have you been through all the records and looked at them closely and understood them , I will be honest and say I haven't .
Parish said when the 4 got us out another administration , that it will be treated like a business and also he won't let us go into administration under his watch .
we dont know what's discussed at there boards meetings , they announce what they have agreed on doing . but like all things in business if the original cost grows exponentially , you put the project on hold until you adjust costs .
I worked for a trillion dollar company and had the same with a 750k project that I was involved in from the beginning , which looked like it was coming in at 1.2m , we stopped it before it went to far .
So using liars as a back up argument are poor examples

You clearly dont understand what investments are or how people with money operate.

Being someone who is worth millions you do not just have that cash sitting around you choose to put it into things to make you more this can be saver options or big rewards for high risk.

If SJ lies his book would have been pulled form shelves and if Tex was not telling the truth that would have been shutdown as well.

Tex made a mistake he knew nothing about how things work and took someone word as good faith this happens in business people who have been in that world know this.

SP said we was close to Administration again under his watch which is why he took the deal with Blitz/Harris.

Yes project prices change even when you are working on them price is not set but you cant keep holding off messing about for decade which is what we did coming up with lots of excuses.

Many other clubs have had no problem with them announcing the project many years after we did.

SP messed about like this with academy as well it wasn't until Tex came in it got done.

I'm presuming our main costs that hold us back are our wage bill. If the Premier League was supposed to be fair, I guess they'd have a maximum wage budget for clubs and all to have the same. I'd guess at like 2.5 mil a week max. That kind of a thing.
I know our wages were like 80% or more of our turnover, but I believe European competition has meant that has had to come down. I think it's 70 something now. I can't remember the precise figures. I'm presuming these are the main costs of all the clubs - unless you spend net 200 mil on transfers. Even then, that's usually spread out. Wages aren't.

Rich people never use their own money, they always get loans against their assets, they usually have a higher return than the interest rate they will pay back, so in the long term they actually make money.

This is a myth. Yes those at the top of the food chain can leverage banks, financial institutions for bridging loans/capital/etc. Its rare that even a billionaire is ever able to dip their toe into a project without getting wet. Ultimately a big investor will have to put his own money in or put his own money at risk.
Donald Trump (before his presidency) was one of the wealthiest men in the US. He went through a 20 year period where every venture he undertook was fully funded by his own money. The reason for this was failed ventures in his younger years turned every bank away from him. He believed the investments he was involved with would make money. In nearly all cases they did.
This is one of the main reasons Our own billionaires wont fund the Main Stand themselves. The return will come but it will take too long to see that return. (from their point of view) Better to borrow the money and let the finished Main Stand pay off the loan. They seem unable to finance it under terms they feel are attractive so the next option seems to be look for outside investment or just cut losses, sell up all together and move on.

No it isnt, investment is putting your money into a company today worth x amount that will be worth y amount in however many years. If you invest today at y amount, you dont make any money.
If I buy a male and female chicken today for a tenner and sell them tomorrow they are only worth a tenner.
If I buy a male and female chicken today and keep them for three years and nurture them they will be a full hen house and worth hundreds.

The top one is called buying
The bottom onbe is called an investment.

You said the club wants 90 million for 10% because the club will be worth 900 million when the new stand is built.

That would be you paying for a full hen house today and getting a male and female for your 100s of money.

Well I dont pretend to know how Parish and co are selling this option but of course they will be asking for an amount which still represents a healthy return on that investment when it matures.
I'd completely agree that asking for the full value of something that wont be worth that until its built would indeed be not only stupid but an unattractive proposition which is likely to attract little or no interest.
My analogy using the chickens was an example but in reality the requested money is bound to be more than the club is worth now but less than it will be worth when the MS is finished
