Main Stand redevelopment thread

Woody put alot of money into the new state of the art stadium for new york jets , so he will make sure this is done correctly so the ground won't be used just for football , The Americans we have are more trust worthy than with Textor , and as someone said its a iceberg you can only see the tip above the water , and also there's still matchs being played

You can't compare US to UK.

US sports operate nothing like UK ones as well.

If Tex had full control stadium would have been done already the evidence was Academy SP etc messed about for year Tex comes in done straight away.

I’m beginning to to think that we might be going for the demolition option. I suspected that nothing would happen until this season was over when nothing happened in January. We would lose 5k of the attendance but we could have no away fans for a season if the PL allows it. That way we get a new stand cheaper and quicker.

Living here haven't heard any mention on here. If works have started then my apolagies to SP.Anyone have any pics?
I went to Sainsbury's at lunch. Things are going on but I didn't spend a lot of time looking. The wall between Sainsbury's car park and our own car park has come down. Certainly looks like a building site anyway

If Textor had full control we would be well and truly in the s*** and a new stand would be the least of our worries. Read up on the Botafogo/ Lyon situation.
Your loathing of SP does not seem to be waning. Yes he has made mistakes and I still criticise him over some things but wishing Textor was in charge is ridiculous

I don’t understand why a new football stadium wasn’t built on the site of the athletics stadium.
You need a brownfield site. Look at Everton’s stadium. The land was gifted by the council and designed by a world leading architect. Trying to build a 21st century stadium in a residential area is illogical.
The battle between two councils.

That and a lot of the sports in the current National Sports Centre would lose their home and they would have to vote in favour for Palace being there. It's a lot more complicated than just putting Palace there.

If only Donald Trump owned our club. We'd have been in Crystal Palace Park in a big, beautiful, gold plated stadium long ago.

Well if we allowed textor to carry on we would be in administration his empire is crumbling , the academy doesn't cost as much as the new stand and we own the academy

Its actually a battle of 5 councils as Southwark, Croydon, Bromley, Lambeth and Lewisham all have a claim on Crystal Palace Park. This is why its almost impossible to get anything done up there. And thats before you start thinking about the NIMBYs!

The venue is a nightmare to get to at the weekend.

Here is the construction plan video, its had 178,000 views already, presumably its not just one fan watching it over and over again?
The portacabins and that block of six council flats will be removed/demolished as soon as this season concludes. By the time the new season starts it will look like a proper building site. Not enough tasks/progress for the club to provide an update, but at least fans will see something is happening with their own eyes (the bit of the iceberg above the water). It is a very complex construction with so many bits of the jigsaw that need moving due to the tight space and the fact the stand will remain open to minimise disruption to us fans.

Those councils would not be in a position to block the transformation plans as they would be going up against the GLA and the fact the entire funding of £130m is being provided by Sadiq with no funding contribution from the councils. WTF are those dinosaurs doing in there though?
