Do not think we will progress in this competition and see Liverpool, with a need to address their recent decline,as likely winners,2-0.
Perhaps a blessing in disguise, given the build up of our fixture list.

Liverpool have a lot of injuries (apparently), so I think we'll see a mix of youth and second-string players from them. Invariably, our second-string/youth never seem to step up in these games, so I doubt Glasner will make significant changes, even though some players, especially our front three, look like they could do with a rest. I think we'll go with a strong line-up, they won't, and we will squeeze through 1-0.

Previously Liverpool probably would have played a depleted side, especially with their CL games. But given their recent bad run in the league, they well play a stronger side now.

I think we should play some of our backup players in this game, but I just don't see it happening with OG.

I can see us getting just edged out in this one.

It would be great to win at Liverpool, however if we do lose then maybe as has already be said we should be happy as it eases the fixture pressure as we seem to be struggling with too many games coming far to quickly for the size of squad we have available to OG.

I think they'll play all their new (underperforming - except Ekitike) signings. I have a feeling we'll have a few of ours in too.

I just have a feeling it'll be (like Frankfurt), where they get it together and smash us.

3rd time lucky for Liverpool? Liverpool have the small matter of a resurgent Villa on Saturday and Real Madrid the following Tuesday. Slot will be in three minds as to what to do to solve their problems. I think we might just make it 3 wins out of 3 against them this season.

I care a lot more about Saturday than Wednesday.
Play every reserve and youngster and save our better players for the weekend.
Don't care if we get thrashed

Depends on Glasner's thinking. If he opts to play a few second string players to give them minutes I'd expect us to lose.
If he feels that nicking a win is more important to get confidence flowing back into the team he play close to our strongest team and I'd then expect us to win.

We really, really need a rest, but also time on the training field. I'd play as second string as we can:

Benitez

Canvot - Lacroix - Guehi

Clyne - Lerma - Kamada - Sosa

Esse - Devenny

Nketiah

We'll likely get annihilated, but I don't care.

Glasner has instilled a winning mindset in the squad based around always fielding a strong team with the aim of trying to win every game. Start moving away from that approach and things will soon go downhill. Glasner has also said that the moment he's told by a club not to take a particular game seriously he'll be off, quire rightly too. He appears to be a man of integrity and that is a rare thing in PL football today. I reckon he'll identify those who need a rest (emphasis on need) and replace them but I doubt it will be more than 2 or 3 outfield players.

We simply do not have the squad depth to honour that approach.
I applaud the good intentions...but it will cost us. Patently it already is.

4th time we drew with them last game of the season
