Leeds vs Palace

Leeds have scored in 7 of their 8 games at Home.
They have scored 6 goals in their last 2 Home games.
I fear we are in for a torrid night.
Thank god you are nearly always wrong. If you were right, we would be in the bottom three with virtually no points!!
Im going for 0-2 tonight. Other than Sarr and Munoz (two of our best players) we should be at full strength and nicely rested.

Our second and third highest scorers this season.Mateta is our top scorer and he hasn't scored in 'Open Play' for 13 games.Mateta at present could not hit a barn door with a banjo.
I will be very surprised if we emerge victorious tonight.

Sadly, no change in your view that we will often fail.
Given our notable achievements this year,I do think Glasner, and his team deserve some credit!!

Your posts give hope, as you are the prophet of doom most weeks. If you forecast a win, then it's time to worry. I hope you not a betting man.

I predicted a 'Win' against Larnaca and we all remember that result !
I am giving consideration to not predicting the outcome of our matches as I sense the 'Mood Music' is that I have become a wearisome minnow and a stonking bore on account of my prognostications of doom.

make that a pair of minnows, or bores, I'm with you on this one ... could be 2-1 to them, but we could easily get a draw with the team we have out, and we might do a 'Fulham', that one was a very pleasant surprise. They've changed their formation to good effect - Glasner has been setting us up to control games, and if we can stop them from dominating the first 20 or 30 minutes then another pleasant surprise may be in the offing.

Make that 10 goals in their last 3 Home games.
I feared a "Torrid night" and unfortunately this is precisely what materialised.
It was a debacle.
😡
Ahh but remember the past willlo. When we were losing to Scunthorpe, Grimsby and reading etc. at home.
We are in a purple patch in our history with cups, trophies and European football which I never thought would happen and nor did you really.
Enjoy the ride with its peaks and troughs because one day it will all be troughs again. I bid you and your good lady a merry Christmas and happy new year. That goes out to all holers.

With the currently available players I’m not sure we can successfully implement Glasner’s system.

The system is dependent on the key roles that Munoz and Sarr perform in the transition phases with Munoz’s continual raids down the right and Sarr’s pace to threaten and run in behind.
Neither Clyne nor Nketiah are capable of performing these roles and it would be unreasonable to expect them too.

The system also requires a strong and physical focal point to occupy the opposition centre backs, link the play, and get on the end of chances.
We have seen that JPM can perform that role , but he is not doing that currently.
He looks jaded, half a yard short and is supposedly carrying a knee injury.

Glasner could (reasonably) argue that all the training and matches are geared to playing the system, that the system has proved very effective and successful (which it has), and the players know the patterns and could play it in their sleep.

However, we are not the sort of club who can carry two players for each position.
We haven’t got two versions of Sarr, Munoz, Kamada or JPM.
With that in mind if you take key components out of the system it’s difficult to implement the system if you don’t have equivalent players to replace those missing.
It’s here that I have some sympathy with those wanting Glasner to vary the tactics to suit the players available in situations like we face now.

Perhaps we need a slightly more flexible approach in out tactics until we have our first choice players back fit and firing.

I have agree with your analysis. I was at the game last night and it was clear that we had no fire power. As you point out Sarr and Munoz are key to us scoring goals not least because with our system it is essentially one of speedy counter attacks without that we are ponderous in our attacking. This showed up clearly last night we do not have equivalent players for those positions. This means without player upgrades in January we are going to struggle until both players return. Although we missed Kamada in midfield , Hughes is not as creative, Leeds still did not create much in open play all our issues were at the set pieces. It is going to be a long December and January with our vulnerability to set plays and lack of counter attacking scoring threat.COYP.
