Leeds vs Palace

It's grim ooop north. really, really grim. It's extremely cold, dark and grey. Most places don't even have electricity and rely on the 'candle man' and foraging wood for the fire. The only running water is through the roof.
Food is scarce, and is usually some sort of fried, greasy, meat.

So our players will have to acclimatise to the conditions, the language barrier, and remember to reset your watches for the time difference, on arrival. Turn your clocks back around 300 years.

Beware the natives. They can be a bit feisty 😀

I never miss watching an away game but tonight I shall be at the Squeeze / Madness concert. Hopefully the signals in the O2 are strong for me to keep an eye on the match reporting? Think all these matches are catching up on us and I can only see a defeat :-( Felt the same for Burnley and Fulham so perhaps that’s a good feeling to have 🙂

I've heard our players are upset that Leeds have switched off the tanning beds and told the mani-pedi lady to take the night off.

Bar stewards. 😀

I made the mistake of walking to the ground from the station once, that felt like walking through a war zone. In the middle of it was a pub owned by Peter Lorrimer, which was awful. I like their ground but they can keep the city.

Leeds 1 : 2 Palace

I think we will score first, just before half time, today is the day Adam gets his first for us, a knockdown to the edge of the box gets drilled into the bottom corner of the net leaving the unsighted keeper no chance, they will equalize late on, maybe 75 minutes, scruffy goal, lucky deflection from an effort that was always going wide, then as they go for the win leaving space at the back, Eddie Nketia will be the recipient of a visionary through ball from Max, on the break Eddie chips the keeper for the winner.

It’s funny listening to the moans about playing Leeds two days after the Finns. Back in the day us old buggers remember, we used to play Boxing Day and on the 27th. One that springs to mind was playing Arsenal at home Boxing Day then we was off down to the Goldstone the day after. It was tiring enough being a supporter let alone playing back then

And the starting 11 were very generously given time off in the week to get ready for this game - so I am expecting a big performance

I recall in the late 80s we beat Brighton 2-0 at home on Boxing Day and the following day we were defeated 3-0 at Ipswich.
I also recall in the 80s we lost both games played on 26th and 27th Dec, Home to Brighton and Away to Charlton.George Wood was in goal for both games.
