Until I see it confirmed otherwise by Dazza I’m going to assume Lacroix remains at Palace.

I always remember thinking Billy Gilbert and Vince Hilaire didn’t do their careers much good when they hung around a lot longer than others from the so called team of the 80’s. I doubt it was through loyalty and at the time it was surprising they didn’t get poached earlierLoyalty is only a virtue displayed by fans and very few players. The player that comes to mind is Nigel Martyn, he stayed after many of the 90-91 team left, he was playing for us in the Championship, whilst being in the England squad, he eventually left in 96, when we were in dire states and needed the transfer fee.
Players are no different from the majority of people, they want to earn as much as they can and play/work for the best teams/companies.
How can you make that assumption the manager has even warmed his seat up yet the world cup is still going , only click bait news going around about our players , we will get some more players in , you have belittled every player we have at the moment , the lost of key players happens to ever club outside top 10 even top 8 , so dont start twisting the knife until we see what happens when the season startsWe can’t upgrade replacements , I’d say the last one was Lacroix for Anderson.
The only other real success has been Sarr and he’s miles away from Olise.
Because of this , added with European football, we will probably , eventually get caught out and relegated.
Our saving grace this season is 3 poor teams have been promoted, only one promoted team went down last season (I expect Leeds/Sunderland to struggle), plus there’s a few teams with small squads that have got in Europe this year, Brighton, Bournemouth , Brentford. They will struggle with the league and Europe.

I believe it is sagacious to reserve judgement on such matters until one has a clearer view of the landscape. How can you make that assumption the manager has even warmed his seat up yet the world cup is still going , only click bait news going around about our players , we will get some more players in , you have belittled every player we have at the moment , the lost of key players happens to ever club outside top 10 even top 8 , so dont start twisting the knife until we see what happens when the season starts
Chalobah is 27 next week so probably at his maximum transfer value. He has never nailed down a regular starting position at Chelsea although does seem to be one of the 3 or 4 preferred CB options, which they seem to rotate regularly. The odd thing is that Roma has apparently bid £20 million for Chaloboah but Chelsea are looking for closer to £30 million.
He's in his mid twenties and has got a further 2 years plus a 1 year option on his contract too, so it's not the short contract or his age which are depressing the price.
Lacroix looks undervalued by at least £25 million if the rumours are true.
The transfer market is a mystery wrapped in an enigma.
I understand that goalscorers are always at a premium, but no team can succeed without a mean defence.
Lacroix would be one of my first names on a teamsheet to achieve that aim.
To 'reserve judgement ' means in the case of Palace having to wait until the last the day of the window when we tend to buy players that nobody else wants equivalent to the last day of the sale.I believe it is sagacious to reserve judgement on such matters until one has a clearer view of the landscape.
Speculation is always rife in pre-season, on occasions without a kernel of validity, however it contributes to the 'Rich tapestry' of HOL and other similar sites.

they may wish, but hopefully not likely to happen.Chelsea may wish to side step the financial rules and swap for Trevor Chalobah that at a guess would be Palace taking a cash balance of £20 million. they are both 26 years old.

They also have about 6 or so very similar CBs - good, but not brilliant.
His wages will also be a factor. A high wage can depress the transfer value (i've heard TC is on c£50k a week, but some websites show him at nearer £100k p.w. The latter seems very high, if true).
I would have thought £30m is reasonable, however, based on Van Hecke going to Spurs for over £50m with 1 year left of his contract then prices are getting silly (Anderson to Man City will not help).
Of course a club can value a player at whatever price they want and it is not an exact science.

And perhaps points to why they've had a poor season? i know he was alright for us - but we're a mid-table club.Chalobah was a regular starter this season 'til his injury.

As I recall, Chelsea did well in the first half of the season. I wonder whether Chalobah's injury might have had a small impact on their subsequent demise. Also, Tuchel appears to have time for him having called him up as a replacement .And perhaps points to why they've had a poor season? i know he was alright for us - but we're a mid-table club.

What talks are these exactly ?Parish keeps selling our best players
Why not try to build on the team ?
Still in Europe & he’s wanting to divide the defense
Stop the talks he’s under contract we have a new season in a few months
Build on the current team to make a full squad for all trophies
