Labour Party politics

These figures are nonsense, there is no proof whatsoever that Brexit has caused a fraction of the things laid at it's door. Remainers blithely ignore all other factors such as Covid, wars etc.
Ha ha time for roll out the pot and kettle cartoon you love.

The shocks you mention are all factored in.

I will accept 4% loss as a conservative loss wholly attributable to Brexit.

I have no problem with people continuing to support Brexit based on their desire to curb free movement of EU citizens to protect British jobs or the detachment from EU legislation. Both are poor arguments but I can, at least, understand why someone might hold those views. But economic prosperity!!?? That's a triumph of delusion over proven reality.

It's raining.
No it's not.
But you're getting soaked.
No I'm not...

Jury knobbling, donations, lobby system, big US tech, Palentir and citizens data, Mandelson/Eppstein, Mossad Mahmood and Met police commissioner, increased privatisations, water companies given license to pollute, unelected HOL talk out assisted dying, access to citizens bank accounts, just a few items but the UK involvement in Gaza will really stick in the throat.

Starmer would be missed by Israel armanent manifacturers, but hardly anybody else.

😎
Fewer dead Jews like a punch in the gut to you

Perhaps?

We lost 4% of our GDP due to Brexit. Maybe our 0.6% rise was due to slow recovery from such a low base?
There is no proof of this whatsoever, figures bandied around are opinions and views not facts. A lot based on a us think tank making guesses.

Because of covid we will never know the actual effect of Brexit on GDP, too many variables.

If you have a source for your 4% I would be interested to see it.

Doesn't make it true because you accept the number, it's your opinion backed up by .....nothing

That growth figure has been generally revised up to 7-8% lost due to brexit.

Where can the government conjure up some growth, closer alignment or rejoining the EU is probably trhe only option they have.

😎
This is from a NBER report widely criticised as being inaccurate , Reeves quoted it at her speech in London without naming the source.

Your economic views are at least not Jew hating which is a good change

Maybe Labour could learn from Reform?.A limited company owned by rich millionaires that did not elect it's leader and has no internal democratic processes.

Saves all this nonsense like voting......
What are you saying?

It takes wealthy people to start a party from scratch.

It's laughable to single out Reform since all parties need money. Unions pay for Labour. Then Labour give our money to immigrants, the unemployed and train drives. No doubt that's OK with you.

The major benefit of Brexit is less government. We should avoid as much government as is practicable. Abolish regional assemblies, metro-mayors and councils (abolition of police commissioners is a small start). Keep government out of as much of our lives as possible while maintaining law and order, defence, health services and social services for the deserving. Slash government spending as far as possible and cut taxes as much as possible. The EU represents the opposite of all these things and is an appalling, undemocratic organisation.

I actually agree with smaller government and lower taxes.

However, I always saw EU bureaucracy, the relative lack of democracy (it is not wholly undemocratic) and effective accountability as a small price to pay to be part of the trade club.

Now commerce and industry is struggling to cope with the added cost and bureaucracy of exporting goods and services to our biggest trading block.

And the halt of free movement of labour is actually insane. Pensioners were the largest voting block to leave. They are part of a shifting and scary demographic where their numbers are swelling but the working population that pays their pensions is dwindling. Only so much slack will be taken by automation and AI. The skill gap was filled by literate EU citizens who came in plenty and left in lean. Their labour contributed to national wealth, filled the coffers of the state, and put food on the table for those who voted to keep them out!

If Reform come into power expect more Trump playbook.

Decisions will be made by newly created executive power.

Accountability will be reduced to lip service.

Annoying non-partisan bodies like the IFS will be closed for specious reasons.

Our economy will rapidly "improve" as all the data will be officially released.

And those who voted for them will be more than happy because any dissent will be dismissed as fake news or the elites seeking to protect their interests etc.

You are getting very boring. This is just scaremongering tosh from a deluded and ever increasingly desperate lefty.

I am suggesting Reform would never get themselves into this position as it does not have a democratic structure

It is run by Farage as we're his other 😛arties,' and thus he is the arbiter of what happens throughout the organisation.

Other parties have democratic structures.

I view that as very much a long shot the public are starting to see him for what he is, perhaps my right wing friends are more prescient than the white van man types who rioted at Epsom but they are now using a long spoon.

As is the case with Trump,a high percentage of people know what Farage, is ,and don’t care.

What is a 'white van man type' ? Are you Emily Thornberry in disguise?
