Well the “ gossip “ prompted No 10 into action didn’t it ?!Gossip is doing the rounds that Keir will be challenged in a coup d 'etat well you don't have to be very bright to realise that Coups only work if done suddenly,unexpectedly stealthily and skillfully as soon as that rag the Daily Mail puts it on the front page by the oxygen of publicity it cannot successfully work. Surely Catesby and Fawkes would tell you if they didn't have a date with a pile of faggots and left in smoke,this is obviously the silly season when newspapers are short of a few column inches.

You’re right, this doesn’t have the hallmark of a sudden coup. More like it’s jockeying for position in advance of a Budget that could take down Reeves and Starmer.
I’ve no real axe to grind here by the way - there’s no Party or individual politician that would inspire me to vote for them.
