If she seeks redress from the agent it confirms she absolutely knew ( which clearly they did ) that the licence was a requirement so her position goes from negligent to wilful. She should get fined and then she should seek redress from the agent.

This has actually given me a good laugh, you not not knowing something makes it somehow obscure. How many people would check such a thing, I didn't know there was a need for such a license.
At least the agents are accepting the blame.

She has to go. And good riddance as she's not competent anyway.Knight Frank have now come out and said they too told Reeves she needed a licence to rent out her property, they also have all the emails to back that up.

Reeves warned by TWO estate agents she'd need rental licence
The Chancellor has been engulfed by scandal since the Daily Mail last week revealed that she had been illegally renting out her south London property for £3,200 a month without the proper licence.www.dailymail.co.uk
Starmer is desperate not to have to sack her just before the Budget but with this latest development AND all the lies and deceit regarding her fraudulent CV, I don’t think this one is going to go away.
How can, on one hand, Nick Adderley be charged with Fraud and MIPO for lying about his military service on his CV and yet on the other hand Rachel Reeves receives a ringing endorsement and support from the PM despite lying on her own CV and now having seemingly committed a criminal offence in relation to letting out her Dulwich property without the correct licence, contrary to Section 95 of the Housing Act 2004?!

Must be her old man's fault then. This hasn’t aged well 😄

Why would they do that ?After the release of another foreign prisoner it is time to ask wether prison officers are deliberately do this to embarrass the government. Highly suspicious.
It is not the government letting them out it is prison staff i have my suspicions as to why but the government are obviously blameless. Anyway a politician shouldn't be in the job if they can't withstand embarrassment Labour are in power that is all that matters not muttering away on the sidelines nothing is more futile than moaning and being ignored. Why would they do that ?
It’s not like this Government need any help in embarrassing themselves

Why do you think they are being released? I'm presuming people are doing it on purpose too. Would hardly be surprised if money were changing hands. It is not the government letting them out it is prison staff i have my suspicions as to why but the government are obviously blameless. I would contend that nothing is more futile than blind faith in a bunch of incompetents but each to their ownIt is not the government letting them out it is prison staff i have my suspicions as to why but the government are obviously blameless. For balance, the Tories were rubbish at accidentally releasing prisoners as well.I would contend that nothing is more futile than blind faith in a bunch of incompetents but each to their own

Not just the media though is it ? The new Deputy Leader of the Labour Party isn’t impressed, nor are other Ministers and Backbenchers that actually take a Manifesto pledge seriously.Every section of the media are jumping up and down suggesting that Labour MIGHT break a manifesto pledge, thinking back I cannot remember ONE manifesto pledge that the Tories ever kept. Two tier at its very best.

That's because even the Labour media are sick and tired of Labour already. They're that sh1t. It hasn't stretched to wanting the Tories back, however. Frankly, you needn't worry about them.Every section of the media are jumping up and down suggesting that Labour MIGHT break a manifesto pledge, thinking back I cannot remember ONE manifesto pledge that the Tories ever kept.
