Labour Party politics

In a democracy people don't march for democracy only the malcontents find something to dislike normally something foreign out of U.K. governmental control idiots not valuing what they have if they were in China or Russia being locked up for asking for democracy and tortured they would know what a problem was, try burning Epsom to the ground there.

It was open to any government to have taken us out. It’s now open to any government to take us back in. There’s no need for another referendum, just as there was never any need for the last. Referendums have no status in our democratic system. So if Labour make a clear commitment at a General Election that they intend to rejoin, subject to satisfactory terms, then they would have the mandate they need.
So, basically Labour using the divisive aspect of Brexit and the EU to further divide the population against itself. And of course takes the focus away from all the sh1t and unpopular decisions it has been making. We are being played…

No. It would be doing what politicians are supposed to do. Which is to take actions they believe are in the country’s best interests. Not to simply do what is currently popular.

If the Tories had stayed true to our democracy Brexit would never have happened. The majority view, both of Parliament as a whole and within the Parliamentary Tory party, was to remain. A referendum was called only to try to finally quieten the euro sceptics and the threat being seen from the noisy upstart, Farage and his UKIP vehicle. It was all to preserve the Tories. They didn’t expect to lose. I will never forgive them for their stupidity and selfishness.

Repairing that error before I die is a big ambition.

Sounds like you are being played too.

Why?

Every politician that I respect and regard as being responsible and pragmatic understands how stupid Brexit was and would take us back in asap if it was achievable. With the public mood now clearly moving steadily in that direction the momentum is building. How long and in what stages is an open question but the final destination is in sight.

With Proportional Representation likely to be one of the requirements of rejoining expect to see a lot more Reform presence.

I fail to see why the EU would seek to interfere with our style of internal democracy. Maybe for elections to the European Parliament but subsidiarity suggests that beyond that it’s not their responsibility.
They wouldn't need to as our membership of the EU would all but destroy our democracy.

Failing to see something isn't exactly a viable criterion. How about having to adopt the Euro; do you foresee that eventuality?

AfD polling at 29% nationally in Germany
Polling especially years before an election doesn't mean anything the Ballot Box decides But on here a lot of Ballot Box is talked daily, for very obvious reasons people will trust the Parties who have a track record in Government.

How many years did it take to complete Brexit ? Three, four ??

So then how long would rejoining take ?

It's entirely possible that this Government won't be in power to see it through....

29% making them top of the poll at the weekend. And the trend for AfD is up across Germany not just the east

Mid term in all countries are the silly season and voters kick governments , a serious study in navel gazing not worth any thought or effort sixth form politics.Elections is the the real thing not just a moist dream. 😉

It’s comedy gold watching the dumbass Remainers obliterate Labour support in the north by trying to make the Labour leadership challenge a fight over a having re-run of the Brexit referendum .

Andy Burnham and Labour already had an uphill battle to win Makersfield now it’s going to be dominated by what Labours stance is on Brexit and rejoining the EU 🥳

Starmer is not guaranteed to stand despite what he said on Friday , That would really upset the apple cart if he officially stands down .

The Lammy Wagon would need a serious overhaul too.
