I cant help but think there is more to this story - IDK, Maybe he is sick & tired of getting Ipswich promoted every couple seasons only to be prime relegation candidates the whole following PL season ?

Its a long season to be stuck in front of the media every few days only to be asked broadly the same questions about the team getting beat & the probability of him getting sacked.

Especially if he views this current squad as not substantially better than the last group he got promotion with.
