Jørgen Strand Larsen

Sorry HG your info is wrong. Last season he scored 14 goals from OPEN play, no pens, this season he has scored, so far, 1 goal from OPEN play , no pen. Those are EPL goals only.

Mate, I wish i was WRONG but Im not, see below.

Wolves 2-3 Burnley

JSL (Pen) and Munetsi scored the goals for Wolves.

His last goal from open play was against us at Selhurst, May 2025. Nearly 8 months ago.

The below also shows his penalty being his FIRST and ONLY goal of the season so far.

Anyone seen JSL classic miss on Saturday against Bournemouth.

Pure Mateta, he will fit in well.

Which one? Watching the highlights on Match of the Day Saturday night (with much anticipation) he missed two sitters.

Someone, tell me I am dreaming. Have we really just paid £48 million upfront and smashed our transfer record for the most underwhelming signing in our history pound for pound obviously

Its odd but on BBS they are ecstatic about the transfer window, and the signing of JSL.
I will obviously wait and see and hope he does well. But I did that with Nketiah, despite every Arsenal fan telling me we were mugged off, and was let down, and then with Pino again, and then I though Uche is the man, but he isn't and then Johnson arrived!! and hasn't done anything...

Also guys, in the last four pages of this thread, there are at least 4 references to him being 24 years.....JSL will be 26 on Friday, and I mean this Friday

Even Sky Sports News are knocking us now as well about his only goal this year being from the spot.

Anyway, fcuk everyone else, JSL is our player and going to score to 15 goals during the rest of the season.

I just hope the post this afternoon is wrong about him being ineligible to play in the Conference League due to us not registering him by Jan 25th, which seems a little daft if true with UEFA knowing the European Transfer Window is open until early Feb, obviously depending where the league is based (and how much corruption goes on within that particular league)

Welcome Jorgen, I hear your Mrs is a 11 out of 10 and attends every game you play. Look forward to seeing her...and seeing you bang them in for us as well.

😭😭😭😭😂😂😂 with a nice over inflated 45 million in our back pocket

That you'll be using to pay off that dead wood talentless 8 point squad of yours to clear off.

You should have taken the 60 million.

So instead of coming on here gloating (??!?!!) why don't you focus your efforts on how you can try to beat Derby's record.

Rob Edwards will get you over the 9 point line, I believe in you.

For me, he’s got 5 games against shitty opposition to prove he’s half decent at the game. If he can’t do that then I will revert to my original thought on him that he is a massive waste of money.

The club can change 2 of the 25 players on the A list up to 24 hours before the first leg of the knock out phase .( Guehi can be replaced)
I dont suppose we even had 25 on the A list so all the new players should be eligible

UEFA would never have such a stupidly early deadline surely? Oh hang on…well perhaps Palace can appeal to CAS on this?

What are the rules on January signings?

Teams remaining in the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League are allowed to register a maximum of three new eligible players after the completion of the league phase and before the start of the knockout phase.

Additionally, clubs participating in domestic championships that start and end in the same calendar year are entitled to additional player registrations in certain cases.

When will squad changes be confirmed?

Clubs have until 24:00 CET on Thursday 5 February to communicate their desired squad changes. Once all teams' changes are approved by UEFA in each competition, the full list of ins and outs will be published on UEFA.com.

Notable recent winter squad additions

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (Napoli to Paris, 2025)
Luis Díaz (Porto to Liverpool, 2022)
Erling Haaland (Salzburg to Dortmund, 2020)
Pepe (Beşiktaş to Porto, 2019)
Virgil van Dijk (Southampton to Liverpool, 2018)

What do the regulations say about squad changes?

32.01: After the completion of the league phase and before the start of the knockout phase, a club may register a maximum of three new eligible players for the remaining matches in the current competition. Such registrations must be completed by 5 February 2026 (24:00 CET) at the latest.

32.02: Exceptionally and without prejudice to Paragraph 32.01, clubs participating in domestic championships that start and end in the same calendar year are entitled to additional player registrations in the following cases:
a. If more than five players on the club's List A are no longer registered with their national association as playing for the club concerned after completion of the league phase and before the start of the knockout phase, the club may register one additional player, i.e. a total of four new eligible players, for the remaining matches in the current competition.
b. If more than seven players on the club's List A are no longer registered with their national association as playing for the club concerned after completion of the league phase and before the start of the knockout phase, the club may register two additional players, i.e. a total of five new eligible players, for the remaining matches in the current competition.

Such exceptional registrations must be completed by 5 February 2026 (24:00 CET) at the latest.

32.03: Any or all of the players from the above quota may have been fielded for another club in the qualifying phase, play-offs or league phase of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League or UEFA Conference League.

32.04: If the registration of such new players causes the number of players on List A to exceed 25, the club must remove the necessary number of currently registered players to reduce the List A to 25 players again. The quota of locally trained players must be respected when registering new players.

No not specifically 24 year olds but I mean failed striker transfers. Could also bring Thierno Barry, Beto, Evanilson, Mathys Tel, Kolo Muani, Joshua Zirkzee, Benjamin Sesko... all players that are the rule for the valuation of strikers in this league. Thiago is an exception to that rule in that he has outperformed his price tag.

Describing the club as a "basketcase" is a whole different debate. Not one I completely agree with. But if you're a player for a team bottom of the league, guaranteed championship football - why would you not want a potential European trophy this season with a young and exciting squad? A London club where your value as a player will grow and hopefully you'll get a big move, should you fill your potential...? Seems like an easy decision to me.
Well, you specifically mentioned a 24 year old so it's a bit late to backtrack now. Thiago may prove a one-season wonder for all I know

I imagine Larsen would have several more clubs after him in the summer. I think 'young and exciting' is pushing it, especially as Wharton may well be on the way soon to pay for some of these outgoings. I hope for his sake Larsen's agent has negotiated a reasonable release clause

People have been complaining for years that CPFC haven’t spent enough money and now they are complaining that they spent too much. The reality is that these are the sort of players you get for £35-£50m.
So work a bit harder than just buying these sort of players i.e. PL retreads
Sunderland managed to integrate a whole team of players in the summer ,none of whom cost over 30 million, and are currently seven points and seven positions ahead of us - scoring twice the number of open-play goals Palace have along the way

I know I derided the purchase earlier. I think the numbers £ involved in football today are simply insane.
I hope Larsen carries the significant burden of expectation, and performs really well. We all wish him the best, even if the fees and wages in football today are simply staggering and put tears in my eyes. 😁👍
